; chapter two
      — "So, we finally meet again."

"Why did you leave?"

Seian stilled over the man's voice. He was facing forward, the man behind him only held his wrist as if he wouldn't let go. He tried to make a strong façade, turning his face towards the man.

"Do I know you?" he countered, as if he didn't know the man at all.

Levi was just a distance away, observing the two. He thinks he shouldn't meddle, Seian can handle it all himself. He saw how the man's brow raise, seemingly amused. He managed to chuckle from Seian's reply. "Aren't you the one I saved before? Why were you even there at the first place?" the man asked, pertaining to the bar hub.

"I'm gay, obviously?" he sarcastically countered. The man didn't change face, as if he was expecting that. He stared at the man, noticing how he's taller than him. Seian nearly scoffed. "By any chance, you're a fellow one as well?"

"Why did you leave without even telling me?" the man didn't just ignore his question but countered another one.

He sighed. "I have no time for such bullshits."

Seian rolled his eyes and turned away. He didn't mind the man's calling, he just kept walking away. As much as he wanted to punch the man's face, he just actually want to run. He wanted to escape, shrug every infuriating feeling off his chest. He hates it how he can still even sense the man's stare behind him, as if making holes through his body. Seian felt a strong arm around his shoulders, somehow diverting his attention. He let it be, clenching his fists, popping every finger.

"Anxious? Why so?"

There wasn't any malice with Levi's question. Seian knows he means well. However, he didn't answer. He doesn't even want to remember. He wanted to bury it all six feet under the ground. Levi nodded, didn't even attempt to pry.

"Seian!"

His furrowed brows almost met when he heard a familiar shout of his name. "Hey, Sof! Lookin' neat, huh?" Levi greeted, arm still around Seian's shoulder.

"Of course, I'm me after all," Carlyle winked at him, earning a whistle from the man. Her face changed immediately when he turned to her brother. "Hey! I didn't know you were friends with Vaughn!"

"Vaughn? The man from before?" Seian thought.

He shrugged. "I didn't know either," he says, looking away.

"Oh, come on! You know him or not?"

"I think he got the wrong guy. I don't know a nickel of whoever he is and I don't even plan to," he frowned and walked away, leaving them be.

Levi and Carlyle stared at each other. The man raised his shoulders, doesn't even know what to say. The girl sighed, glanced at her brother's slightly broad back. Levi tapped the other's head, comforting her. "You know how vague your twin is, give him time," he smiled.
