Final Selection | 06

It was the day. The day of Final Selection, either life or death. Kanao and I were traveling to the wisteria flowers as I admire their colors. As we get ready and chat a bit more, I decided to look around. There's someone who has yellow hair and he looks like he got beaten up? Ouch, that's what happened to me. I looked onto Sanemi's brother, Genya, which- was really angry than I expected. I looked at a red hair guy, with a.. mask with him..? When we met our eyes, I felt something.. through my heart and I thought I was going crazy for a moment. Such.. kind eyes I see. The twins walked up and explained our final selection thingie, and we all have moved inside the forest of demons. So, I have a week to kill all of them demons? Isn't that.. a bit too long..? I thought.

Day One

I took my first step into the forest, holding my katana. Kanao and I have decided to split up inside the forest. It was only the first day of Final Selection but all of us pre-slayers have six days before we get out of this damn scary forest. Surely nothing could go wrong, right? I took a walk, or an explore. Nothing really special though, just a lot of trees and bushes. I run into my first demon who I'm about to slay. I let it come towards me, more closer than usual. I moved my arm like speed, and cut off their head. Me gulping signing that I was scared as hell. But I've decided to overcome the fear and slay more demons. 

After a few hours of slaying demons, I sat down under a tree to rest my arm. Half of me is thinking that I'm gonna get killed, but the other half of me is thinking that I'm going to survive. I wish that Kanao was here with me, I wonder how she's doing in this forest. I prayed that she didn't get eaten. A few minutes of resting later, I stood up, grabbed my katana, and ran through the woods to find more demons. Unfortunately, there was less demons than I expected. As I stroll through the forest, I've found the red haired boy. I've decided to greet him but I heard his question to the hungry demons I could never forget. " Do you know how to turn a demon back to a human? " He asked the demons, I stopped on my tracks just to hear that heartbreaking question. He cut off their heads as they were about to kill him. We made eye contact again, I looked at his kind eyes. He came to me in a happy way. We shook hands, and we sat down in front of a bush to introduce ourselves. " My name is Tanjiro Kamado, eldest of six, nice to meet you! " The boy with red hair greeted. I greeted back, " My name is (Y/N) Shigeru, eldest of three, it's nice to meet you too! " We smiled, but I asked him a question that I wanted to ask earlier, " Why did you ask about turning a demon back to a human..? " His smile faded away when he was asked about that question by me. " You see, my sister became a demon. But she has never devoured a single human. Her name is Nezuko. She protects humans like they are her own family. So instead, she starts killing demons instead of humans. I promise, when you meet Nezuko, she'll never devour you I swear! " Tanjiro told me. I smiled a Tanjiro's words as they melt my heart. After a small chit-chat, we've decided to slay some demons together. 

Skipping all the way to the last day

My exhausted body got back too early to the wisteria lobby, and sat down on the floor. The yellow haired kid came back second with.. a lot of bruises I can say. The guy who looked like Sanemi came back too, then Kanao. Kanao and I hugged once again after reuniting after a week. A few minutes later, Tanjiro came back last. The twins came into the lobby, and started stating their wording, " These are the people who survived the Final Selection. Please come here and choose any of these for your swords. Choose wisely. " We walked towards the table with the rocks of abilities. Tanjiro chose his rock first. After all of them choosing, I've chose my rock and saw four crows and.. a sparrow.. coming for us. I looked to where the sparrow was flying to, and it went to the yellow kid which seemed.. crazy. Genya ( guy who looks like Sanemi ) got mad and yelled at the twins by his words saying, " I DON'T WANT THIS SHIT! " After that, Genya pulled one of the twin's hair and yelled, " YOU BETTER GIVE ME MY SWORD NOW! I WANT IT NOW! " ( ok long story short , I have watched the demon slayer series and forgot what happened in this episode, sorry ) Tanjiro got into the fight and grab Genya's arm. " Leave her alone, will you? " Tanjiro asked kindly. Genya refused. However, Tanjiro got his grip tighter on Genya's arm, then Genya pulled his arm away due to the pain that Tanjiro was causing. After all that scene, Kanao and I went back to the Butterfly Estate.

Most of the pillars were happy to see us back home. We've told them what happened. While Kanao was talking to Shinobu, I've went off and tried to find Giyuu to thank him for comforting me during training. I saw him sitting by the porch, looking unbothered as usual. I run up to him with the happiest smile, and hugged him. He pat me on my back asking me what I wanted from him. " Thank you Giyuu, you've helped me through my training while Muichirou was away from the both of us! " I told him with the same smile on my face, he nod, but this time, he gave me the hug. I smiled again, then told him about what happened during the final selection week.
