Chapter 5

Niall's POV

This can't be happening. We can't lose Louis. We just can't. Liam continued to stare at me as I jumped up and rushed into the hallway.

"What's happening?!" I blurted out and Zayn's head snapped towards me. Liam raised his hand and grabbed mine. My eyes scanned over all of their faces. Perrie was standing next to a worried Zayn and Dr.Adams was staring down at his clipboard. I squinted my eyes as Perrie's met mine.

"Don't worry Niall, it's okay." Perrie assured me, and Zayn nodded.

"So far."He added, and I tilted my head. Everyone was silent.

"What's going on?!" I asked again and Liam nudged me.

"Dr.Adams was going to tell us about Harry and Louis, but he didn't finish," Liam mumbled. My face contorted in confusion.

"But, I thought it was Louis head.. I just.. you frowned at me." I stammered to Liam, and Zayn grabbed my arm.

"We just finished talking about Harry." Zayn reported as Dr.Adams stepped forward. I raised my eyebrows at both of them.

"I was saying that Mr. Styles has made a rapid recovery. He should be ready to leave the hospital in about a week." Dr.Adams started as Liam squeezed my hand. I looked at him.

"What's the problem then?" I pleaded, but Liam stayed silent.

"What I was getting at was," Dr.Adams stated, trailing off. I looked back into Louis' dark room.

"We took Mr. Tomlinson's x-rays last night, and we found a fracture on his right leg." Dr.Adams breathed.

"Is that it?" Zayn stammered and I bit my lip.

"It was just a slight break, it should take about six weeks to heal." Dr.Adams explained. I looked at Liam; who was staring at Louis' door.

"So, Louis' going to be alright after this?" Perrie asked, cautiously and Dr.Adams sighed.

"Yes, but there's also something else." Dr.Adams started. My eyes filled with tears. Louis' not going to be fine. It's his head, I know it is. I looked at Liam; who had an expression of pure devastation. He knew what it was as well. Liam sighed and tried to force out words.

"What is it?" Zayn stammered and my eyes widened.

"I thought it was going to be fine, but something has rapidly gotten worse since last night." Dr.Adams stammered. I wasn't ready to hear this.

What if Louis' going to die?!

Dr.Adams cleared his throat and looked at me.

What if my nightmare was coming true?!

I looked back into Louis room and took a deep breath.

"Mr. Tomlinson has dangerous amounts of internal bleeding in his brain. We will have to perform surgery to close the open arteries if you want Mr. Tomlinson to live. We will try to remove the blood that has pooled inside the brain, which will hopefully stop the bleeding and swelling. It will take a miracle for this procedure to work properly." Dr. Adams stated, cautiously.
