Antagonizing but Sweet

"They what?" I ask, my head shooting up. Skull stayed quiet for a moment then nodded.

"The X-Blood want to challenge us..." Skull replies. "They think we don't deserve our titles. Since I've been down in the S+ rank for so long, apparently. Either they lose and we win or we lose and they win. I think we all know where this is going."

"I don't think we should go," I blurt.

"What? I wasn't expecting you to say that." Mask retorts, scoffing. I glare at him and he shrugs, rolling his eyes. Army sighs.

"I agree with Aloha, this could start an actual fight. We should tell them we are busy. We'll find a way to avoid them all day, that shouldn't be too hard, yeah?" Army says, looking to me then to Mask and Skull.

"But- won't Vintage know that we skipped out on him? I mean, he might be a little aggressive about it. Or, I don't know, say things that inklings may believe..." Skull points out. I sigh.

"He's going to harass us about it?" I ask Skull. "Harass us? That's it?" I raise an eyebrow. "I'm completely used to it. He can harass me as much as he wishes, if it makes him feel better about himself. I'm not going. That's that," I tell Skull, shaking my head. "I won't do it."

Skull nods, staring at the table. "Okay, then, I'll just tell him-"

"Hey, would you look who it is!" A familiar voice says. I quickly stand up, Army does too, followed by Mask and Skull. I turned to face Vintage, who scoffed at me.

"Still being silly about it? Just fight me. Don't chicken out." Vintage says, rolling his eyes. "It's not that big of a deal."

"You'll make it a big deal," I remark, trying to keep a glare off my face. I smiled a fake smile at him and turned to Army. "Should we leave?" I ask him. He nods.

"Leaving? Do you plan to ignore our challenge too? Like it was nothing? Come on, don't you have any pride as a member of the S4 or whatever? You have to have pride like us X-Blood!" Vintage yells after me. I keep that stupid smile plastered across my face, ignoring him.

"The hell's up with him?" Double Egg asks. "What a coward." He remarks. I stop dead in my tracks and Army looks over to me.

"Don't, Aloha." He tells me. I twitch slightly, anger coursing through my veins and the smile disappears in a single moment.

(P.S. Trying to write a serious scene when "Baby Shark" is playing in the background lmaoooo)

"We aren't going to fight you, we don't have time to fool around with you and have a hissy fight over a couple of titles. Just back off. I told you no," I say, keeping the anger from my voice. "I'm leaving." I say, walking off and Army followed quickly. I heard Vintage mutter something but I ignored him.

Army stayed quiet as we walked back to my place. "Sorry," I say, breaking the silence. He looks to me, confusion across his face.

"Sorry? For what?" He asks.

"I probably just started a fight," I admit, sighing.

"No...no, I don't think so. Besides, they're just desperate to get on Skull's nerves. They really don't like any of us...you shouldn't apologize." He says, looking back to the sidewalk.

"Aloha!!" A voice yells from the other side of the road. I look up, stopping. Army stopped to see who was yelling, too. Diver looked both ways before darting across the road. "ALOHA! Did you see it?" He asks, frantic. I look to Army who shrugs. I turn to Diver and shake my head. "WHAT!?" He practically screams. I quiet him down quickly, as we were getting a few stares.
