Chapter 1. Friends Are The Family You Choose

Pheonix's Pov~

Hey there, yes you, My name is Pheonix Qetsiyah Desmond and I live in Mystic Falls. Mystic Falls is a supernatural town in Virginia and I live here with my best friends Alexia Branson (we call her Lexi) and Stefan Salvatore. I rarely speak with my parents (Vivian Qetsiyah Desmond and Hunter Silas Desmond) due to the fact they live in Europe, England. I am turning Twenty Two in 13 days, My birthday is the 22nd of June I will be old enough to make my own decisions.  I have my powers as any witch would have but, I have to consume mine from other supernatural things. The supernatural word for this is Siphon and I am a Siphon.  When I turn 22 I will get my "one special power" My Mother and Father say, but this power I can perform whenever I would desire... 

It was a beautiful summer morning and I decided to journal my day. So I wrote,

"Dear Diary, Today I am meeting with my family for my coronation. I am very excited because every member of my family will be there whether I have met them or not. Great aunt Nancy will be there too so I best dress like a respectable woman, I have invited Lexi and Stefan too!! What to wear, aha I've got it! The beautiful dress of my mothers...

Yup, That's me! Ok, I best get going now."

Stefan and I met up in the town center where we hired a carriage to take us to London. Lexi decided to make her own way as expected, she likes to go sightseeing on her journeys. 

When we arrived, Stefan was very anxious, when I took a glance at what he was looking at I understood his frustration. There standing at my coronation was The Big Bad Mikaelsons. Yep, Niklaus, Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah. I despise Klaus as he is just a fool for attention, Elijah is tolerable as he is the most sophisticated and pleasurable of the bunch. Kol is a music freak who has a satisfaction for Stefans ancestor Silas to be dead, Now Rebekah she's a, well shes complicated, see she only wants to live for love which is understandable since Klaus ruined all of her past relationships. Speaking of exes her ex is actually Stefan yes, my best friend Stefan Salvatore. 

Saving me from ripping Klaus' head off, Stefan and I spotted Lexi across the field. We talked for a while discussing why the Mikaelsons were even here, we suspected my mother had invited them to make some sort of truce with Stefan and I but that was not happening anytime soon. 

The Coronation began at approximately a minute to 4 pm, my mother, father, and I stood in the center of the field holding hands, as my mother is a hybrid and my father is a heretic I could siphon power from them leaving my father with enough magic to help me continue the spell. We started to chant, "Phasmatos Motus sanguinim ginarus", we set the spell for my birthday, and only on my birthday I will be rewarded with my special spell.  The day quickly turned to night and everyone was freaking out, we were only doing the spell for 5 minutes or even less. Something went wrong I can feel it...

Stefan and I looked around for my parents, we found them talking with Klaus so Stefan tapped in on the conversation, listening from around 50 yards away he could hear everything my mother saying "We need to tell her, you know, about Stefan and why half his family were here tonight and also why Damon wasn't here." She said, Klaus agreed and came to find Stefan and me.  

We sat by my parents and as Klaus left he said: "I will let you tell them as I am hated here." "Pheonix, Stefan," My mother said, "You... you are cousins, through your father Pheonix." "Your father's Brother is Guiseppe Salvatore yes, Damon and Stefan's Father.  Guiseppe was around twenty-five years older than your father. Your father, Hunter changed his last name to his mother's maiden name as he was disgraced by the Salvatores." That's not all she needed to tell us, so I yelled out "What about Damon, Why isn't he here." My mother began to reply "Damon can't be here because he is off the rails and has turned his humanity off. If he were here his blood lust would have killed us all by now." I stormed out of the courtyard taking Stefan with me, we found the nearest carriage to take us back to Mystic Falls but before we left I found a note in my purse and it read, "I'm dearly sorry for my absence in your life but I hope i can make it up to you with a special gift, but you have to wait until your birthday!!! My dearest love, Mother, Vivian x."

Diary-   Dear Diary, Today is June 22nd, MY BIRTHDAY!!!! Today I get my unknown power IM SOOO EXCITED!! What if the Gemini Coven show up? Let's hope that's for another day. I kind of hope the Mikaelsons are there I just get happy family vibes off of Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah and you know you can't have any of them without Klaus. I'm going to try to make peace with him but for my sake not his. Now, now let's see what should I wear? The Founder's Party dress, No too bland. The Masquerade Ball dress, No too hippie. Ah, I found it, My red and black Victorian dress. 

I arrived at the Gatehouse, It was beautiful. But I wonder who decorated it. I frantically turned around as I heard a suspicious sound behind me, It was Stefan, my exquisite cousin. I ran into his arms, "Thank you so much, Stefan." I began to cry tears of joy. "No, problem. I just want to see the only family I've got happy." 

I looked down the path, I saw Klaus, Kol, Elijah, and Rebekah. "Come on Stefan, We have guests.." We elegantly made our way over to them. "May I speak with Klaus, alone..?" I asked politely. "Hello, Love, of course, you can borrow me." "What's on your mind, love?" He said with charm. "What's the deal with Vivian? Why are you speaking with my mother and since when did you even know she existed?" 

"Pheonix, I didn't know her up until a few weeks ago. It was Elijah's idea that we make a truce with you because he doesn't want to be enemies that's all, Love. And how I knew you and Stefan were related was simply because I read up on his doppelganger Silas and Damon's true love Elena's doppelganger Amara who betrayed a witch called Qetsiyah." He explained. "Klaus, I forgive you and Elijah and Kol and every other Mikaelson alive, I just wanted to hear you say it, but if you want to have a truce then fine I have something you could do for me," I told him. "And what would that be?" "Turn me," I commanded unhesitantly ... 

"Let bygones be bygones my friend time to make a new vampire" Klaus laughed.
