Ada had woken up in the dark. She was looking around, trying to discern her surroundings, attempting to find something recognizable. She quickly realized that she was in neither her room, or the guest room at her Gramma's, and tried to realize where she was. She saw Spencer uncomfortably sleeping in a chair, which made her feel guilty for the coziness of her make-shift mattress.

She recalled her tragic evening, her breath hitching and her eyes watering. She started sobbing quietly, hoping not to wake Spencer.

She cried for her parents, and how they felt, and she cried for her Gramma who just wanted to save Ada's parents. She heard someone move, and she attempted to stop, but her tears were stifling, and she couldn't breathe.

What she didn't know, was that Morgan was half-awake, and Ada wasn't nearly as quiet as she thought she was being. Morgan silently slinked out of his seat and went to sit down next to the fort. Ada looked up, her face looking like clear paint had been dripped down her cheeks, her face red, and her eyes small and puffy.

Ada looked over at Morgan, surprised. She tried to wipe her tears, but Morgan gripped her hands softly.

"Hey, hey. It's ok. You weren't given any time to cry on your own. That's important, but you're being shoved face-first in this investigation." Morgan tenderly held her head and put it to his chest, letting her sob into it.

Reid woke up to Ada crying, and jumped up quickly, maybe a bit sleepily to help. He walked over and sat criss-crossed next to his partner.

"Morning Ada. Do you want us to leave, or stay?" Reid asked, looking for some way to alleviate her pain.

"Stay- Stay Here- please," Ada choked out, lifting her head from Morgan's chest, her breath catching as she transferred her head in between the two agents, and sobbed on both of their shoulders. Morgan instantly hugged her, while Spencer was stunned for a second, not used to much physical contact, and then hugged her back.

Time passed and Adelaide quieted. Her sobbing became barely audible whimpers and her body went slack. She had fallen asleep again. It was still dark out, and the sun hadn't even thought of rising, so Reid and Morgan decided to head to the hotel. Morgan sat up slowly, since Ada's head had rested in the crook of Reid's arm. Morgan cleaned up the remains of the fort, and Reid gently picked up they young girl, his arm supporting the joint under her knees, and placing her head on his shoulder, his other hand supporting her neck.

"Dad?" Ada was bleary, she was half asleep. Reid's heart panged in sadness.

"Go back to sleep Ada," Reid said quietly. Ada went slack again, and rested her head on Reid's shoulder.

Morgan and Reid walked out of the station with Ada gripping Spencer's neck like a sloth. Spencer splayed her in the backseat and buckled the seat belt around her torso. When Morgan sat in the driver's seat and Reid in the passenger's, they both looked back at the sleeping girl, her cheeks stained with sorrow, her eyes puffy, and her cheeks flush.

                                                                                     ***

It was a short drive to the hotel, and when they got there Ada was deep in sleep, and both Morgan and Reid were exhausted. Reid scooped up Ada again, and brought her to their room on the second floor while Morgan checked them in. Morgan met them up in front of the door, and opened it for them, and Reid went into the first bedroom on the right and sat her down in a chair while he pulled back the sheets on the bed. He placed her on the bad and covered her to her neck in the blanket, and went back to the living room.
