TW: Mention of suicide
And so they sat there together, Reid narrating Anna Karenina, and Ada sat, listening to his calming voice. He told the story well, well enough to keep her mind from drifting to last night.
Morgan came out on the patio, the sun glaring his eyes.
"Morning Kid. Younger Kid," Morgan greeted them. He was in a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt, while Reid was in a hoodie and loose flannel pants. Morgan walked over to Adelaide and tousled her hair. Ada looked up and smiled a bit, and looked back down.
In his other hand though, was a phone. Reid knew what it meant, but Ada was oblivious.
"We've been called in. We'll have to stop for breakfast on the way," Morgan says groggily.
Ada nodded.
"Oh, Ada, I have toiletries for you, and we can get a pair of new clothes from JJ. She looks to be approximately the same size as you," Reid informed her, getting up to get the extra toiletries from his bag.
Ada walked into the hotel from the second entrance in the living room, which was left open. The walls were tawny, spackled with black in the square room. Against the wall to the left when you exit the balcony was a large brown loveseat, and across the way was a small television set.
When Spencer came out with a bag of toiletries, Morgan came from his room as well.
"We don't have much time, if we want breakfast you'll have to bring the bag with," Morgan said. Ada nodded curtly, and they headed out of the room towards the car.

The car ride was comfortably quiet. They were driving down old, rocky roads that had been painted yellow and black too long ago. Ada and Reid had convinced Morgan to take the back roads, since Ada knew of the murderous tendencies that Florida traffic can bring, and Reid because he had once studied a map of Florida, and this was the fastest path to the station with a Burger King on the way.
The path was scenic to those who've never seen it before, with the tall evergreen trees crowded on the left side of the road, and an easy green hill, guarded from the road by steel rails that curled out at the end.
Ada let her eyes drift to the deep green forest, looking at the stumps of the trees as the forest passed her by. Morgan and Reid started talking, Ada heard snippets of the conversation when she wasn't in her own thoughts. She had too much to ponder, and she had to find a way to evaluate it all without bursting into tears.
Ada thought about her loving parents, and her humorous Gramma, and how all them were gone too soon, and she wondered why. She knew of the theory of the flower garden, where the most beautiful flowers get picked first, but she didn't buy it. Her parents loved her, but she knew that they weren't perfect, and her Gramma was the same.
To quote on of her favorite movies-turned-musicals, Beetlejuice, 'That's the thing with life, No-one makes it out alive'. Why even try, it it won't change anything?
Adelaide understood suicidal temptation, but never felt it herself. She wanted to try and help the world, she wanted to try and weed out the evil to make it better for others.
Her eyes glanced to the road, overhearing Derek berate Spencer for his sleeping habits. His head was turned towards Spencer so he had half an eye on the road, but his full face on Reid. Ada was watching the road though, and almost missed it when a flash of brown darted from the forest.
