As Owen and I were getting ready to meet with his family for dinner, I couldn't decide on what dress to wear. Owen came into my room to see me not in a dress. Owen came up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Wear the red dress, love. I bet you look beautiful in." Said Owen
"Are you sure you want me to wear the red to have dinner with your family and not because you would want to rip it off of me later?"
"It's only for the dinner. Now get changed and don't forget the wine we went out to get for my mum." Said Owen
"I won't."
When Owen left my room so I can get changed, I grabbed my small makeup bag and went into my bathroom that's attached to my room. I was doing my hair and makeup when Owen came in with my shoes. I gave Owen a quick kiss before I slipped on my shoes. Once we were ready, Owen escorted me to his car and opened my door for me to get in first. I got in and Owen closed the door before he went to his side of the car. As we were driving, I noticed that Owen looked tensed so, I placed my hand on his shoulder to get him to relax.
"Owen, are you okay?"
"I'm fine just worried that my sister will say something to mum about us." Said Owen
"Owen, if Hattie does say something to your mum about us then I'll be glad to say that I love you and nothing is going to change that."
"What did I do to deserve someone like you, when all I did was cause pain to your family?" Said Owen
"Everyone deserves to have a second chance to correct the wrong doings in their life."
Owen just smiled at what I said and continued driving to his house since his family lives in a huge mansion. Once, we got to his house we were greeted by Deckard and Hattie. Hattie gave me a hug while Deckard gave me a strong handshake. Owen wrapped an arm around my waist which caused Deckard and Hattie to notice.
"So, you and my brother finally to admit your feelings for each other." Said Deckard
"Yes, we did and there's something that Owen and I need to tell all of you."
"Of course. Come inside mum is waiting." Said Hattie
We all went inside the house as Deckard escorted us to the large dining room. When we got to the dining room, I seen Magdalene at the head of the table waiting for us. Deckard and Hattie sat down on the right side of the table while Owen and I sat down on the left side of the table.
"It's so nice to see you again, Caroline. How's Dominic and his family?" Said Magdalene
"They're doing great. Also, before I forget but Owen and I got you a nice bottle of French wine, your favorite."
"Oh my, you didn't have to do that, but I must say that you have changed Owen's heart for the better now." Said Magdalene
"I believe that everyone deserves to correct their mistakes and right the wrong."
"Mother, there is something that Caroline and I need to tell all of you." Said Owen
"What would that be son?" Said Magdalene
"Cipher is back and is coming after me for betraying her when I helped save Dominic's son." Said Owen
"Oh dear, that will put Care in danger since you are now romantically involved with her." Said Magdalene
"I can handle myself and I'll be damned if she ever hurts Owen, all of you, or my family. She already caused so much pain for both of our families and if she hurts anyone that I love and care about again, I'll kill her myself."
Magdalene, Deckard, and Hattie looked at me in shock then Magdalene clapped her hands together. Deckard and Hattie did the same while Owen and I looked confused. Magdalene smiled before she stretched out her arms.
"Welcome to the family, Caroline. You just have proven that you will do anything to protect the ones you love no matter what the cost is. Now that is something I respect dearly when it comes to the right woman that I want in Owen's life." Said Magdalene
"Thank you. I remember when Owen was in the hospital recovering from his accident. I didn't take a day off or anything because I wanted to make sure that he gotten the care he needed until he was healed and well enough to go home."
"Care, you have done so much for my family and I which I thank you for that but please reconsider your thoughts about going after Cipher." Said Owen
"Owen, you know that I can't back down. Besides, what are you so worried about?"
