"dad" I called out for my father, I soon walked into his office in search of him after I realized he wasn't in here I quietly walked around the room, he never lets anyone in here. I walked to his desk running two fingers on the smooth wooded desk until my hand hit some papers with some pictures on top.
I picked the papers reading word for word. The information read "Choi San is 21 years old" I looked at the paper confused. Until I saw a little note with an address on it I quickly snapped a picture and continued to read. The information was about this guy named Choi San, his information like his birthday, age, current living position, and his past.
"Who is this guy?" I asked myself getting more curious. I heard the front door slam shut so I quickly put the papers back on the desk and started to make my way to the door until the door flew open. My father looked at me in shock until he decided to speak up. "Why are you in my office?" he asked waiting for me to reply.
"I came looking for you and I thought you would be in here," I said he suddenly smacked me crossed my face. My hand went up to my face holding my cheek, I felt a burning sensation. I gazed at him and he had a shocked expression on his face.
"I-I did n-not me-an to d-do th-at" he studdered I quickly walked out of his office. I can't believe he did that... that was the first time he ever hit me. I make my out of the house soon walking to the nearest convenience store, as I entered I ran into a guy.
I quickly turned towards him and bowed, he looked at me in shock. "Are you okay?" He asked pointing to my tears, I didn't even realize I was crying. I answered with a simple "yes" but that wasn't good enough for him. He put his arm around my shoulder directing me into the store, he picked up a drink and a snack soon paying for it.
He made me follow him to a table that was just right outside of the convenience store, we take a seat a crossed from each other he then opened up the drink and snack and gave it to me. "It may not be my business but it seems like something is bothering you" he spoke up I just looked down. "Am I right?" He asked making me look at him.
I murmured out a quiet "yes" and continued to look down. "I just realized I did not introduce myself... I'm Wooyoung" he said with a smile. "My name is Jongho," I said returning a smile. "I have to go but here is my number if anything is bothering you can talk to me," he said handing me a piece of paper. With that, he got up and walked in a different direction.
Many thoughts ran in my head about the guy Choi San. I kept asking myself questions like "Who is he? Why does my father have information about him? What is his interest with the guy?" I walked into the building that I call home. I noticed my father sitting on the couch, it was almost like he was waiting for someone. My father sprung up when he saw me.
"I'm sorry," he said getting up from his seat. I just sighed and decided to speak up. "Who is Choi San?" I asked curiously he then looked up at me with wide eyes. "I guess you saw that paper then... he is your brother" he hesitantly said. I could believe what he just informed me with, "my brother?" I thought I didn't have any siblings.
"I thought I did not have any siblings" I quietly said. "You guys do not have the same mother but I am yours and his father" he informed me. "If he is your son why is he not with you now? Why isn't he living with us?" I asked confused. "I le-ft hi-m wh-en he was you-ng" he stuttered. "Why would you do that?" My emotion became anger.
"You don't understand the pain he caused me," my so called father said. I didn't know what to say I was filled with anger. I stormed to my room slamming the door shut. I quickly take out my phone and start a new message with the guy that I meet earlier.
jongho: Hi this is Jongho.
wooyoung: Oh hi is everything alright?
jongho: No not really... would you mind if we meet up and talk?
wooyoung: I can meet you after work, I'll let you know when I get off.At least I can meet up with him and talk he seems trustworthy. Hopefully, Wooyoung and I can become close. A couple of hours went by and I got a message from Wooyoung telling me he is getting off, he also told me where we can meet up. I quickly grabbed my belongings and made my way out of the house.
I arrived at the location he asked me to go to. I saw Wooyoung sitting at a table waiting for me, I take a seat next to him making him look at me and smile. "Did you wait a long time?" I asked curiously. "No I didn't I just got off of work" he explained. "Oh right... wait what do you work as?" curiosity toke over me. "I'm a detective" he informed me I looked at him in amazement.
"So is everything okay?" He asked worriedly. "No, I found out that I have a half-brother and my father abandoned him when he was young but all this time he has been trying to get information on him," I said twiddling my fingers. He just looked at me in shock.
"Oh, why did he abandon him?" He asked. "My father said that he caused him pain that is why he left" the boy in front of me displayed a puzzled expression. "I wasn't going to ask you this but since you are a detective it would not hurt... can you try to find him?" I gave him a pleading face. "I can try but I need information about him first" he spoke up.
I jumped up and pulled him into a hug "thank you I will get some information for you" I said soon running off back home.
choi san
I decided to go outside to get some fresh air, I was walking when I heard talking coming from outside the convenience store. Soon noticing it was detective Wooyoung with some other guy. I don't know what this feeling is but I got anger at the sight of Wooyoung smiling with some guy.
I heard them talking about the guy's father and how he abandoned his son. I could see that it was bothering the unknown male. Listening to the story reminded me of the pain my father caused me, I resent my father for doing that to me. After a while, I saw the boy hug Wooyoung and runoff.
"What is this boy thinking hugging Wooyoung?" I thought to myself. I couldn't stand the sight of him hugging him. Maybe I feel this way because I have never had this kind of affection.
