Josephine was trying her hardest to pull the security guard, away from his donuts and late night football game airing on the TV, to where the injured gentleman was at before it was too late. She didn't literally want his blood to be on her hands if he died because she was too slow to get help or that she couldn't provide enough help. "Slow down missy!!! I'm still trying to swallow this donut! Don't make me choke, or there'll be two casualties tonight!" "Well if you were paying attention to your work instead of sitting on your duff doing nothing, then we wouldn't be in this situation now would we?!" The guard couldn't really argue with her on that. He knew that he was going to be fired tonight by the landlady, and it was not going to be pretty.
When they finally arrived at the alley way, there was nothing left of what was a nasty blood bath of a fight. All the blood, gun powder, empty bullet shells, and oh yeah, the BODY was gone! It was as though nothing had happened! Josephine was highly confused. Even though her sight wasn't completely back, but even she could see that the alley way was completely clean of anything suspicious. She was at a loss. It's not like this hasn't happened before. The only other time something like this has happened was the time she was trying to gather evidence. Evidence for a crime that was committed by a demon. The crime scene was completely clean to the point where the crime itself didn't look like it even happened at all. A lot of people that both trusted and was somewhat on the fence about her, seriously questioned her as to whether she was to be relied on or to be weary of her sanity. Let's just say, that demon cleaning incident left a bad taste in her mouth.
Josephine couldn't help but scrunch her face and twitch her eye just a bit as she remembered that "unfortunate" incident. And the security guard couldn't help but notice her confusion/frustration/silent fury on her face. It was then that he simply asked that if he called the police about the incident and would give them the footage from the cameras if she did him a solid. Josephine already knew this was going to turn ugly REAL fast. He wanted her to make sure that he did what he could when he IMMEDIATELY realized what was happening. That way the landlady won't chew and spit him out like he was some old piece of bubble gum. "That all depends if there's anything on the footage." If it was going to be anything from last time, she knew how this was going to turn out. Not good at all.
And just like she expected, as soon as the cops were called, they reviewed the footage. And it all came up as static for the past few hours. The police didn't know what to make of it. They didn't call Josephine crazy(which was her fear) they just said that they would increase security around their apartment when they could. And let's just say, Josephine was about to loose her mind. But nobody really caught that because she had mastered the "Glass Mask" technique. It's a trick for actors to use to hold in their inner wild emotions in a "not-so-stable" situation. And she's been in enough "situations" where she's had to use that technique to escape or handle things that were "out-of-control". There were a few times in her life that the mask almost cracked, but she just remembers her sister's wise words that she said long ago to regain her confidence. "Don't let them see your vulnerable side. Once they see even just a hint of fear or vulnerability, they. will. tear. you. DOWN!!! So do me and all of us that have been pushed around by bullies all our lives. Kick their butts!!! But in a way that will be discreet but silently LOUD!!!!" Ever since she heard that, she had enough strength to move forward without fail.
After the vigorous questioning from both the police and her landlady she was eager to get to her room and sleep the stress off. Luckily for her the landlady already had the bed put in her room along with fitted sheets, blankets, and pillows all set up. She dropped her stuff and plopped down on her bed and went straight to sleep. The next morning came and as Josephine fluttered her eyes open, she was finally able to see! Oh how she missed her ability of sight! But her joy quickly came to an end when she got a call from her superiors from Heaven. They told her that the Devil somehow managed to reacquire the Holy Dagger. And that her new mission is to do a recon mission to his casino. She asked them how and they said that her sister, due to circumstances, was working there and that she would be able to pull some strings for her. Josephine was quite surprised at this. She thought her sister was already off the island and she really didn't expect her working for the being that she hates so much. As they were talking about the arrangements, Josephine was rummaging around her guitar case to see what she could organize. As she was doing so, she came across the very card the charming stranger had given her. It was a card with basic contact info on "The Devil's Casino". She halted altogether and told her superiors that she would handle the situation on her own. "I think I can handle this one. I have some unfinished business to take care of." They were about to ask her what she meant by that but she had already hung up. She then called her sister and said, "Yeah, hey, it's me. Listen, I need you to do me a favor."
