xvii. Matt

I gave her the puppy

Which she calls Daisy

 “She’s adorable

Take care of her”

Twice, she nodded

And said her thanks

Momentarily

We just stood there

Her chocolate brown eyes

Piercing through my hazels

Before I get lost in them

And do something I’d regret

I held out my hand

And introduced myself

“By the way, I’m Matt”

She timidly smiled

Apologized for last time

When she called me Albert

She shook my hand

Said her name’s Sofia

Beautiful just like her

Her soft voice

Trembled a little

But its sweet sound

Was not hindered

My name so plain

Never sounded as lovely

When it came right

Out of her enticing lips

It was music to his ears

Stirred his sleeping heart

Sweet start of something new

Igniting the lost fire of love.
