To believe in the embellished life style is an sad thing to see
The dream feigns to be golden but it is dark
A black cave that will swallow you whole if you allow it
You can only believe such lies if you are sleeping
Open your eyes, this is no surprise
A dash of depression
A drizzle of pain
Cries of misery
Pleads for help
Houses with foreclosure signs
Men on the corner looking for dimes
Kids with no money for Payless shoes
Divorce rates sky high
Kids with no parents asking why
The world is cold
How could this so called dream be told?
The American dream?
More like the American scheme
Tricked to believe that there is happiness waiting at bay
Those who dreamt the dream has reality to pay
