𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙛𝙤𝙮"No one disrespects a Malfoy. I've made sure everyone knows that," Draco bragged on our way to the first class of the day. I laughed quietly, knowing he was feeling a little too good about himself.
Outside the classroom Potter, Granger and Weasley showed up at the same time as us. As we were waiting for the door to be opened, they all gazed up at us. Hermione and Ron quickly looked away, looking slightly disgusted.
"What are you drooling for, Potter?" I asked with a crooked smile. Draco grinned. That's when professor Binns opened the classroom door and Hermione dragged Harry with her before he could say a word.
All I had heard was stories about the famous Harry Potter, the boy who lived, the boy who defeated The Dark Lord. Never had I seen him in person. And there he was, in front of me. He was lazily listening to professor Binns while quietly talking to Ron.
"It could've been broken. Madam Pomfrey said I should rest. She said she could have given me something for the pain, but I told her I didn't need it," Draco told Pansy, who was looking at him pitifully and running her hands through his white hair. I rolled my eyes.
"Draco, I think we all would enjoy greatly if you stopped whining about your arm for a minute," I suggested and turned around to shoot Draco a sharp glare. Harry, a couple tables away, smiled a little, but then quickly tried to hide it. Even some other Gryffindors were grinning while Draco glared at me.
Throughout the whole day people kept asking why I didn't start school at eleven years old like everyone else did. I managed to avoid the question by saying something like 'I had better to do' or 'maybe I was too good for this school'. Every time Draco got the same question, his face turned blank and he awkwardly just told them to go ask me instead. I knew that in reality he was scared to tell people because our father wouldn't like it. And so we both shut up.
Later that day I was sitting in the library, trying to study and get some of my homework done. I couldn't believe how much work we had gotten in one day. I considered myself quite smart, but didn't enjoy studying. I liked reading books about stuff that interested me, but trying to read for an assignment felt extremely hard. It's like all the information disappeared the second it got to my brain.
A girl walked up to the shelf next to me, and started looking for something. As she turned around, she saw the parchment in front of me, with the title 'Goblin Rebellions'.
"Are you writing an essay on that?" she asked.
I tilted my head up, frowning slightly. She was short, had bright, green eyes and long strawberry blonde hair.
"Yeah. I wasn't here last year, so Binns gave me one of last years essays to write," I explained blankly, and went back to my parchment.
"Oh yeah, okay," she answered. "I'm April by the way. I'm a Ravenclaw, so you probably haven't seen me. If you need help with the essay, you can ask me. I'm quite talented when it comes to writing," she then told me, smiled and walked away holding her books.
I didn't say anything, just stared at her walking away, blinking confusedly. I wasn't used to people being so nice to me, especially since most seemed scared of the Malfoys.
When I left the library it was quite late, and the hallways were quiet and empty. Honestly it felt really good to be distanced from Draco and all of his friends for a bit. I still hadn't figured out why Draco was hanging out with them in the first place.
As I turned around at the corner I almost bumped into someone, and quickly stopped and took a few steps back. As they lowered their wand I saw it was Harry. Of course it was Harry Potter. He was holding something in his left hand, that looked like a parchment. At my sight he put it behind his back, acting as casual as possible.
