I sat down with Draco, who opened his book and turned his gaze to Umbridge in boredom, knowing we'd do nothing other than just read. Once again."Starting to hate the woman already, are you?" I asked with a grin.
"Fine, okay. I hate her," Draco admitted irritably.
"Took you long enough."
"But, she likes me and hates both Potter and Dumbledore," he said, searching for the right page.
"Mm-hmm," I mumbled. "Why do you hate Potter so much, anyway?" I asked, trying to sound as casual as possible.
For a while, it was deathly silent, and as I tilted my head to the side Draco was staring at me in disbelief.
"You're not serious, are you?" he asked loudly like he'd been personally offended.
"Yeah, I am. I just don't really get it," I shrugged and turned back to my book. "What made you hate him so bad?"
"Well.. he-" Draco irritably thought for a couple of seconds.
"Didn't you... want to be friends with him at first?"
"Shut it, he is a pathetic mudblood-lover," he hissed.
I glanced at Harry, who looked rather grumpy.
"That's just horrible," I said sarcastically, giving my brother a pitiful tap on the shoulder, my eyes still on Harry. From the corner of my eye, I saw Draco shooting me an angry glare.
-
"Our last class today.." said Pansy, studying our schedule, ".. Potions."
"Lovely," I mumbled sarcastically.
Draco waved his wand slightly, muttering a spell. Harry, who was in front of us looked down in confusion as his books suddenly flew from his hands and landed on the floor.
He turned around and saw Draco grinning smugly, leaning against the wall. I sighed, closing my eyes for a second. Harry pulled out his wand, ready to get back at him, but Granger snatched it from his hand.
"It's not worth it," Ron said, giving us a disgusted glare.
"Let's just go," said Hermione, picking up the books.
"You're hilarious, Draco," I huffed sarcastically as they left.
Harry seemed to have heard, since he looked back a bit away, grinning. I narrowed my eyes and made a face as to say 'that wasn't for you'.
Snape, like usually, looked tense and irritated as the Slytherins and Gryffindors showed up to his lesson.
"Erumpent potion," he said sharply as everyone sat down, "can anyone tell me what it does?"
Like expected, Hermione's hand shot up in the air. Snape tried his best to ignore it, waiting for someone else to raise their hand. Finally, I did.
"Yes, miss Malfoy?"
"It explodes when you touch it," I answered, remembering I'd read about it in a book.
It was clear Snape was satisfied someone from Slytherin got the answer right.
"Indeed," he said slowly with an approving nod. "Get the ingredients yourself. For homework I want you to write an essay on the potion and its ingredients."
Many students groaned and started making their way towards the shelves.
Only I, Granger, Blaise and Draco managed to prepare the potion correctly. Seamus Finnigan's exploded in his face, Longbottom accidentally knocked his cauldron over, Pansy's smelled and looked disgusting, and Potter's and Weasley's were so terrible Snape erased them with a flick of his wand, taking thirty points from Gryffindor.
