JEALOUS?

adjective

feeling or showing suspicion of someone's unfaithfulness in a relationship.

"Jake, I would love to, but my parents came over last night so that isn't possible," I lied.

"Then why is Alex's car in the driveway?"

"He just came to drop off something."

"Drop off what?"

"It was my diary. He found it and came over to drop it off." I lied once again.

I hate lying to Jake, but I don't have much of a choice.

"Oh, where is he?"

"Right here," Alex snaked his arms around my waist and placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Wow..." Jake scoffed and began walking away angrily.

"Jake, I'm sorry!" I yelled, pushing Alex off me and chasing after Jake.

"Jake, I can explain," I started, grabbing his arm, forcing him to turn around.

"What is there to fucking explain, Bella? He comes behind you and wraps his arms around your waist and kisses you, SHIRTLESS! I know you guys fucked so there's nothing to further explain, Bella." He snapped.

"We didn't fuck, Jake. I'm telling you the truth." I responded.

"Yeah, but you're going to! Right!?"

I simply stood there, silent. He was right.

"Of all people, you choose to sleep with the heartbreaker. He might be my best friend, but I know him, and this isn't going to end well, but you go ahead, just don't ever talk to me again." He sneered before walking away and this time,

I didn't chase him.

Instead, my mind was circling and spinning thinking about what he said about Alex.

"The Heartbreaker."

I shrugged off my thoughts, and walked back into the house where Alex was standing, watching that unfold. Thankfully, Jake and I stood a little far from the house to where Alex couldn't hear anything we said.

"That was uncalled for," I retorted, pushing Alex out the doorframe so I could get in.

"What was he even here for?" Alex closed the door and followed behind me upstairs to my room.

"He wanted to take me out on a date." I answered, sitting on the bed while Alex stood in front of me.

"A date?" Alex repeated. I nodded.

A wave of jealousy came over him, but he quickly pushed it back down and completely ignored it.

"You're not going to say anything?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Nope. What's there to say about it?" He said before plopping on the bed and pulling his phone out.

"You don't care if I said yes?"

He paused for a second before replying, "Nope."

I got up and laid beside him, wrapping my arms around him.

"I won't go on a date with him." I spoke but his eyes were still glued to his phone.

A moment of silence passed before I snatched the phone out of his hands and threw it on the floor.
