"On This Bench"

Today I'm here again sitting, sitting on this bench reminiscing.
The years when I was young, young and worrying about nothing.

This is where I first saw you, you who made me fall in love.
That day I thought I saw, saw an angel from above.

I still remember the ecstatic feeling, feeling blessed you said yes to my offer.
On this bench I nervously asked, asked if you'll wear the ring I'm holding on your finger.

We had it planned that night, that night when the moon was shining bright.
We'd have our garden wedding here, here where this bench made me believe in love at first sight.

But fate's been unkind, unkind and cruel to us.
From me you were taken, taken in such a rush.

Years have passed and it still hurts, hurts so much I can't seem to move forward.
I keep trying to forget, forget you though is but so hard.

In my mind I see a picture, a picture of us old and grey seated here.
And I feel my heart heavy with despair, despair in not knowing why you're taken away by that grim reaper.

A/N: Have you lost someone you dearly love? Did you wish you could talk to them again if that's possible?
