CHAPTER 4

~Alaska~

"Wow. This place looks different. I didn't even recognize the house." Maya says looking around the front yard of my old house.

"Are you sure this is even your old house?" Maya asks.

"Yes I'm sure. Come on let's go in I'm starving." I say.

Maya shuts off her car and we step outside, shutting the car doors behind us. Maya locks her car and we walk up to the front door. I can hear Marley barking from inside as my mother opens the front door.

"Hello again." My mother says seeing me. "Maya! Welcome back!" My mother says greeting Maya with a hug. "Come in girls. The boys have no idea you're here. They're upstairs playing on the Xbox." My mother says. My mother begins talking to Maya and they begin a long conversation about the road trip, the food we ate, the hotels we stayed in and the places we say. Maya leaves out the parts of us getting drunk and meeting numerous guys.

Maya and my mother begin to walk into the kitchen while I lightly walk up the stairs to see my brothers. I try not to step on the loose creaky step. I still remember everything about this house. The familiar smells come rushing back to me as I pass mine and Tyler's bedrooms. the smell of freshly washed sheets lingers the rooms. Our rooms are both stripped bare with only beds in them. My curtains are shut, but Tyler's are open for some reason.

I continue walking down the upstairs hallway in search for the room where the boy's play video games. They are so focused on the TV that they don't even notice me at the door. I stand at the door for at least a minute, tapping my fingers lightly on the door frame as they watch the TV screen.

"You know. When I left, all three of you didn't have mustaches. And I was taller than you guys." I say, grinning. The boys look over at me, surprised to see me standing at the door frame.

"ALASKA!!" They all shout, dropping their controllers and headphones and bolting over to me. They basically jump onto me. Making me fall onto the floor. They all riot on excitedly, hugging me and one of the boys accidentally pulling my hair.

"Alaska you are finally here! We have been waiting for you for so long!" Alex shouts hugging me tightly.

"I don't want to admit it but I missed you Alaska." Will confesses, trying not to make eye contact with me. I laugh. I know they missed me. If they didn't they wouldn't of caused such a riot from when they first saw me.

"I know you did." I say giving Will a small kiss on his forehead. Will starts to blush but he just begins to make rude remarks at Alex for pulling my hair.

"Is Tyler here as well?" Josh asks curiously looking around the hallway for Tyler.

I feel my smile drop. I never thought of how I would explain Tyler and I to my brothers. They would be heartbroken that Tyler will barely visit them. I sit there for a few seconds and the boys all go silent.

"No. Tyler's not here." I say lightly, even though I managed to say that, the boys know I can't manage to say the rest.

"He is a jerk for leaving you." Alex says.

"Yeah, total jerk. The next time I'm going to see him, I'm going to hug him and then kick him." Josh says, smiling mischievously.

"No boys he didn't leave me. We just never talked when I was on the road trip and I we just drifted. Now he has moved on. So no one needs to go kick Tyler. I can do that myself." I say, partly joking about me kicking Tyler.

"Alaska I know you can. You just have to show him what he is missing out on, that's all." Will says simply.

"Since when have you cared about Tyler and I?" I ask.

"Since he forgot about my sister." Will says, crossing his arms.

"Guys! Dinner is ready!" I hear my mother shout from downstairs. I get up off of the floor and follow my brothers downstairs. The kitchen is filled with the beautiful smell of freshly made lasagna.I find a seat at the table and sit down next to Maya at the table.

"Guess who is starting at Westpark with us." Maya says.

"Is it a guy?" I ask.

"Yep, one of the hot guys we met on the road trip." Maya says and I instantly think of all the guys we met.

"It's Cameron West. He is back." Maya says and I squeal with excitement. Everyone stares at me while I have a fit.

"Are you serious?! Maya this is amazing. You really liked him!" I say. My mother looks at me.

"Yeah I did and he asked if we could hang out sometime. I gave him my number and he said he would text me." Maya says.

"Does he remember the time you guys....." I whisper to her and Maya looks at me.

"I think so. He mentioned us sharing intimate moments so I'm guessing he does." Maya whispers back.

"Yeah and those intimate moments happened way more than once. He's into you, if he wants to hang out that's great. Maybe he wants some of your action once again." I say winking at her and she playfully hits me.

Josh walks over to me, holding two plates full of lasagna. He hands Maya and I the plates and we both thank him. He smiles and walks back off to grab his plate.

My brothers sit down, getting right into their food. Before I know it they have all cleared off their plates and are begging for seconds.

My mother hands them all another plate full and she joins us at the table.

"I've missed a good home cooked meal. Thank you, Jane." Maya says.

My mother smiles. "Anytime. You girls can just give me a call whenever you want a meal cooked. I've missed both of your company."

"I've missed your food. That's all." I say, giving my mother a smile and eat another fork full of lasagna.

"Remember that time we had that pizza fight?" Josh asks. Josh and I are sitting out on the tree outside in the garden.

"Yeah I remember. Remember that time when I broke my arm on this tree?" I ask and Josh laughs.

"That was kinda funny. Your arm just got stuck." Josh says giggling. "We had some funny times. I would definitely go back in time. They were probably the best times I've had in a while." Josh says, looking both sad and happy.

I hate reminiscing. It's reminds me of all the times I've spent with Tyler. The happiest times were spent with Tyler, and now they just lay in the past. Locked away in my memory.

I shiver as a cold breeze hits Josh and I. I try to ignore the cold as I take in my surroundings.

I haven't been up in this tree for a while. And the last time I was up here it was with Tyler.
