"How did you feel after you two slept together?" I sighed at this. I knew this question was coming.
"Honestly horrible. I felt like I betrayed Maddie." I remember that moment so clearly. I hated myself.
"Alright, so what's this list of yours contain?" I said while taking a big drink of my shake. Her eyes lit up as she pulled out what looked to be a journal.
"What the hell is that?" I questioned with big eyes.
"Well, this is my bucket list!" She responded enthusiastically.
"Hope I don't know how to break this to you, but that is not a bucket list. That is a bucket book, my dear!" I said while taking another big drink of my shake, but this time followed up with a huge bite of my burger. She looked at me, weird.
"What?" I said with a mouth full of food.
"Um. You're an adorable person, but you need to stop talking with your mouth full. Also, no, this isn't a book. This is my journal, but my list is written in here." She said matter of factly.
"Alrighty then. What's up first?" I said while gulping down the rest of my food.
"Glad you finally asked. First up is to go to the aquarium!" She looked like a five-year-old just now hearing about the aquarium. She's so adorable.
"What is this list alphabetized or something? Have you really never been to an aquarium before?" She rolled her eyes at my first comment and didn't become anymore impressed by my laughter.
"No, it's not. I've just been compiling this list since I was younger. Also, no, I haven't been to an aquarium. If I had, I wouldn't have put it on my bucket list." She sassed back. I love that she can be sassy and sarcastic back at me. The best people are always sarcastic. Besides her sarcasm, I just keep coming up with more questions about this girl.
"Exactly how long have you been compiling this list for anyways?" I sat up, giving her my full attention. She squirmed a bit and looked away from my gaze.
"Honestly, since I was around seven. I wasn't able to get out much when I was younger. My family was... Just very busy." She said in a tiny voice. I feel she's getting uncomfortable with this conversation.
"Well, it sounds like a good start then. We can go today. I have nowhere to be, considering I wasn't supposed to be here." I laughed, but she didn't really think that was amusing.
"You know your sarcasm and humor may cover up your emotions, but you are going to have to face your demons sooner or later." She said like so many have said before. I got up out of the booth and put on my shades.
"Well then, I'll wait till I'm burning in hell with all the other gay people. Come on. Hope we have an aquarium to explore." She looked at me, stunned, with her mouth agape.
"Do they really go to hell?" I rolled my eyes and yanked her out of the booth.
"No! We're reincarnated as superheroes. Now come on." I opened the door to my car. Noticing her confused expression as she got in. I had a nice laugh at this. This girl is so naive.
