That evening back at home Dad and I collapsed on the couch and threw compliments back and forth to each other about the day's work. We came to the conclusion we both did amazing. It was one of the best day's I've had only under the condition that I didn't go public. If I did, my future would be in turmoil and the new era of moonlight artist had just begun.
We turned the TV on and watched the news but then I heard it...
"Lemillion, Blue Blood and their new sidekick a young girl called Rairakku had saved the day by stopping the illegal drug Trigger from hitting the Kamino ward..."
My mind went blank and I was in shock as I saw a picture of the three of us on the screen.
"Tsuki- are you ok?" Dad asked concerned
"everyone knows what I fucking look like now Dad, what do I do... "
At this point I was about to cry because I hadn't specified that I didn't want to be known. Dad lent over to hug me
"hey my little vigilante, I know that you may feel this is bad but a vigilante never gives up. They keep fighting and I know you can too, kid"
he said with a comforting voice.
"Thank you Dad"
I said with a small smile. I got up to go to my room and remembered that I wanted to draw a vigilante outfit for myself so I got my drawing book and got to work.
After three trials of a design I found something I loved. It was a black jacket with white stars and my symbol on the back of it and the words moonlight artist on the sleeves, a simple pair of ripped black jeans, converse sneakers and a dark velvet bandanna for my hair. The jacket had pockets on the inside for my drawing book and pencils. Minutes later they were complete. I placed my left hand on the costume and focused on my intention. I looked beside me and there the costume was. It looked stunning on me I thought as I tried it on with a smile. I skipped to the living room and showed Dad.
"I hope she is ok,"
Akaguro thought. The young girl had left the room upset because her identity was now out for the public eye after a news segment honoring Lemillion hero agency for taking part in a drug bust in the kamino ward. Akaguro was one of the heroes of the mission along with his 'sidekick' Tsuki but known more commonly in the media as Rairakku. She was upset because if she got anywhere close to being suspected as the moonlight artist then her future was at risk. Akaguro knew this so he did everything he could to protect her identity. Tsuki walked into the living room sporting her brand new vigilante costume.
"Hey Dad do you like my vigilante outfit?"
she asked with hope. Akaguro was left speechless at the fact it reminded him of his Stendhal days.
"It looks great kid"
he answered
"thank you" she smiled.
It was late so the both of us went to bed. I was happy with the outfit I created and couldn't wait for tomorrow as I was going to south end to try out my new knowledge and outfit. This time Dad was going with me which was going to be a great way to de-stress from today. I just hoped I didn't get noticed the slightest. I was clearly on edge but I convinced myself it should be fine.
I woke up at 10:00 the next day mostly because I was tired and got to sleep at midnight so I slept in. Half an hour later I was dressed and had something to eat, there was a note on the fridge from dad and it said
"just gone to the shop kid, I should be home soon".
I nodded and picked up my katana and practiced some moves while I had the chance and sharpened my pocket knife . Like my dad I loved knives and sharp things so I had the katana I drew for my dad the previous day and other bladed objects which dad and I shared. I heard a click of the lock and dad walked in holding a bag of food for the week
"hello mini me" he laughed.
"Kono baka" I retorted.
"Let me train you in the art of blade techniques"
he said after putting away the groceries.
"YAY" I squealed.
An hour and a half later we had lunch and practiced for another hour, it was amazing.
Later on by 9:00 that night we were wearing our vigilante clothes and I modified mine with my katana and a hidden pocket knife. We were on our way to south end by jumping side by side over the rooftops, leaping and jumping. It was amazing that we were following our destined paths not being a hero or villain. It was a perfect way to calm down with the cool night air against my skin spending time with the man who had adopted me as his own. We reached south end pretty fast so we had time to scout the area and see what we could do. It was 10:00 and we found a spot to sit while I drew a large van and placed it upside down on a roof or a three storey building, putting my symbol and vigilante name on the van. My Dad watched closely stifling a laugh as I activated my quirk and then hurriedly put everything away motioning for Akaguro to follow. We headed off towards home because we didn't want to be caught and we wanted to be home before midnight preferably.
It was 11:30 when we got home and burst out laughing at how ridiculous my latest feat was. I was pretty sure it would leave officials stunned and pro heroes scratching their heads. Dad and I agreed to go to bed because it was late. We said goodnight and were asleep before you knew it!
