The Lich bellowed as our five friends found themselves in a frenzy.

"SCREW WHOEVER MADE THIS STUPID IDEA!" Elaine yelled as a deadly gas shot out from the mouth of the dragon. The green cloud of death had similar Dragon Fire-like characteristics so it was able to create a more-or-less aimed attack at anything, good news for us, these dragons have very bad aim despite having specialized cognitive abilities.

"Hey Laine, if you want us to live then SHUT THE HELL UP! AND WHO ARE YOU CALLING STUPID?! I-" Leo screamed back as Hadrian, Nox and Cedric groaned silently. Someone's angry huehue.

"If they don't quiet down, were sure as dead," Nox muttered as Cedric could only nod before shrieking when they almost got hit by the green miasma.

"Uh can you guys go any faster?!" Hadrian demanded as Leo and Nox continued their sprint.

"You do realize this is our top speed right? And besides speeding up won't do us any better, not with trees and branches making it difficult to maneuver through the path. The best we can do is try to outrun it," Nox reprimanded his master who gave him a sheepish look before almost having a tree branch slam on his face.

"See what I mean?" Nox added before doing some sharp and quick turns to avoid him and his passengers from having flora smack them in the face.

'We can't keep on running forever Leo, we need to do something! That dragon must have a weakness?!' Hadrian mindlinked his mount who snarled at him.

'Well genius, the only thing that can slay that monster is for a magical creature of nearly the same strength to take it out or something much more powerful,' Leo barked at Hadrian. That had Hadrian thinking, if all they needed was to fight fire with fire, then why couldn't have Nox and Leo fought it themselves.

'Nox,' he called out his second familiar to which the fox replied with a bit of an over-enthusiastic "yes".

'If you guys are the Incarnates, then why don't you guys take it out?' Nox sighed.

'Hade, we already told you we can't. The only way we can take the creature down is either we unleash the power that has long been sealed away or..' he paused, wanting to let Hadrian think for himself. The boy was sharp, something Nox appreciated. But Leo was not having it.

'Nox, he's not ready! We can't risk it, not unless he's capable and judging from the looks of it, he's just gonna get himself killed!' Hadrian eyes suddenly clouded, not understanding why they would be against telling him a way to defeat the lich.

'Nox, you have to tell me. Even if it kills me. That's the least I could to my duty as the Emblem Keeper, besides, at least I know I was able to save my people,' the lion and fox stopped running, and for some reason became paralyzed after hearing the last part. He sounded so much like him.

'Hadrian I-' Nox got cut off when a sharp spike pierced through one of his legs. A sharp cry of pain howled from the poor fox, but not before shielding his master's friends with powerful spheres that protected them from the attack.

"NOX!" Hadrian and Elaine screamed as Cedric quickly rushed to fox's head, face filled with worry and fear as he saw the spike that pierced his friend.

It was a rather thin bone shaped like a spear that looked more of a medium-sized blade. To many dwellers of Terra Majica, it would be a very easy recovery, but to Cedric and Leo who recognized the bone, paled.

One of Nox's legs started to wither ever so slightly, but sure enough, the withering didn't just make the leg weak and numb. No, it was a far more sinister pain and the bad thing is that the worse is still to come.
