Chapter 1

We were back. To 2019, the moment the seven of us were in the umbrella academy front doorway all six of them looked around.

"So did we do it?" Luther asked and I sensed the rooms of the mansion.

"Well, Reginald isn't here. There's something.... someone maybe hard to tell." Speaking slower at the end when trying to make sense of the object I'd found on the second floor.

"Mum," Diego said running off up the stairs.

"And Pogo?" Vanya asked sound a little nervous.

"There's someone down near the kitchen." She nodded and Allison touched her shoulder.

"I think after all that we need a drink," Klaus said then looping an arm around my shoulders. "Especially you (y/n). Our future is saved because of your amazingness." Rolling my eyes I smiled lightly letting him drag me along.

"I wouldn't go that far. But I could go for a cocktail." The six of us went on with making and drinking our alcoholic beverages when Diego came walking back down with his mum. Who looked younger than everyone here.

"(Y/n) it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Grace." We shook hands as I squinted my eyes at her.

"You'll burn a hole through her at this point." Five said from the seat next to me. Blinking I looked away from her.

"Is she..."

"A robot yes." Makes sense. She's not breathing the same way. More in the way a computer does not to overheat.

"Any other odd family quirks I should know about?"

"Pogos an ape who talks." Allison quickly said. Opening and then shutting my mouth in slight confusion I took a moment to process.

"Right then. Very odd." Seeing a shot glass in front of five I took it downing the clear liquid before standing.

"Wait where are you going?" Five said as I grabbed my bag from the couch walking out of the room.

"We scared her off. Poor little thing." Klaus said.

"Just taking precautions." Calling that back to the group knowing Mobius would've known we travelled back because of the use of the briefcase. Five warped beside me.

"Procoraions?" He questioned as I'd only made it halfway up the stairs. Biting my lip knowing there wasn't heaps of time to explain I continued walking.

"The briefcase. We used it to get back to 2019. Meaning they know where I am." Five bit his lip and that made me blush. Why is that so attractive all of a sudden?

"So you need to do what?" He spoke after a moment and I shook my head going back down to earth.

"I'll tell you once we're on the roof." Five grabbed my hand and we were then in front of a greenhouse. Opening up my bag there were small black dots in a plastic bag.

"And those would be?" Turning his hand out I placed a bunch into fives hand.

"It'll Warn us when someone enters the house. Just place them a meter from each other around the edge." Starting around the front it took a while to map out the whole house but once it was done I scanned a black dot-connecting it with my watch. The moment someone steps into the house I'll be notified.

"Is it working?" Five asked warping beside me looking down at the watch. Biting my lip nodding slowly while stepping between the dots the screen lit up beeping.

"Yep." He smiled leaning towards me kissing my neck. I'm so flustered all of a sudden.

"Good. So will you relax for a few minutes?" Rolling my eyes at that I crossed my arms.

"Coming from you? Mr short wearing grumpy pants." Five scoffed at me smirking. Looked like he was going in for a kiss but I turned around going for the door.

"I'm going to have a shower. To relax as you said." Not turning back and waving goodbye I made my way doing two flights of stairs looking around for the bathroom. When seeing posters along the walls of karate moves but they were demonstrated by kids. Strange. My parents put up crayon drawings. Breathing out in relief when finding the bathroom I shut the door turning on the water. Undressing and getting under the water it had been a while since I'd found the time to clean myself. The watch I wore was waterproof and it doesn't run on battery. Honestly, I'm not 100% sure how the watch stays on, but I'm not going to question it.

After the shower, I stepped out putting my clothes I let out a yawn remembering that there wasn't really a place for me to sleep.

Klaus was walking down the hall when I walked out.

"Oh, so you had a shower."

"Uh yeah," I said with a raised brow still ringing out my hair.

"I uh wanted to thank you , for uh well because Ben is still here since you helped Vanya." Previously Ben had only been mentioned a few times, I'm not sure how but he passed away when they were younger.

"That's fine. Just trying to help." Yawning after that Klaus looked to his left talking to someone.  Must be Ben.

"Oh, that's a great idea," Klaus said. "Ben said you can use his room. Follow me." Klaus was overexcited and grabbed my forearm pulling me up the stairs. Swinging open the door he did some jazz hands. "Ta-da!" I didn't say anything and looked around. It's like they left the room untouched after Ben passed away.
There was a layer of dust surrounding the furniture and some floating around in the room. "It's a fixer-upper but better than the floor." Klaus then sneezed and I softly laughed. "There you go. A smile looks good on you. What's got little (y/n) down in the dumps?" The way he was talking to me sounded like I was ten, not almost thirty. Although I do look fifteen don't I.

"I'm just not used to having a place to call home. That's all." That's when five warped into the room making me jump.

"What are you doing to her Klaus?" Five asked but Klaus just sniffed

"Oh, that's just touching." Klaus went to hug me but Five stood between us.

"Step back alright." Klaus hissed at five. Like literally hissed like a cat.

"I wasn't going for you turf bro. I just want a hug." Klaus tried again but five shoved him back.

"I said back off." Klaus sighed shuffling away and to the door of Bens room. Five was frowning the entire time while I just sighed crossing both arms.

"You're even more protective than with the manikin ." Klaus grumbled walking out of the room and down the hallway. Five turned to me seeing my raised brow.

"Is it always going to be like this?" I asked and five completely ignored my question.

"What are you doing in here?"

"Ok then." I breathed out to myself removing the towel from my shoulders. "Klaus said that Ben said I can use this room. To you know sleep and stuff." I sneezed just before Grace walked into the room.

"Klaus said you were going to use this room from now on. I'll get started on the cleaning." She smiled. That was quick.

"Oh yeah sure. I'll just." Stepping out of the room Grace started working. I really just wanted to sleep but it looks like I'll be waiting a few hours.

"You ok?" Five asked with both hands in his pockets.

"Yeah just so tired. I was hoping to use Bens room to sleep."

"You can use my room." He gestured to the bedroom opposite and opened the door. I let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you." Kissing his cheek I flopped down onto his bed ready to sleep the rest of the day away.
