The Chaotic Dice
Jovi hesitated, noticing that their one of their friends were missing from the bar.
"Hey, Flaw," They said, nudging the tiefling paladin "Have you seen Alexander anywhere?"
Flaw shrugged. "Last I saw him, he was heading up to his room."
Jovi frowned, leaning across the bar to talk to the party's' warlock. "Hytori, have you talked to Alexander recently?"
"How recently?" Grunted the sun elf, busy feeding his imp chunks of meat.
"Past few hours, maybe?"
Hytori turned to arch an eyebrow in a bored manner. "He's not my pet, you know."
Reggie sipped his water quietly. "He acts like it..."
"What was that?" Hytori said, turning around to glare at him.
"Nothing," the rogue answered swiftly.
Nilk, the goblin cleric, nudged Jovi. "Last I saw him," He said, "He was having an argument with Avril."
"Oh, fiddlesticks," Murmured Jovi, standing up. "I'll go find Avril," They sighed. "Nilk, if you see Alexander, send him to me, please."
"Sure thing, Jove."
Jovi left the pub with a sigh, making their way through the dark, moon-lit town. It took them a while before finding Avril, the party's' druid, nestled in a collection of bushes, in the form of a stag, near the gates of the town.
"Avril?" Jovi called, and the stag blinked open it's' eyes and smirked. In a few seconds, in the stag's' place, was a tall wood elf.
"Hello, JoJo," He said, fiddling with her hair, their eyes locked onto his friend. "What's up?"
"Alexander's just gone poof, Nilk said you were the last one to speak to him. What happened?"
Avril grinned. "Oh, that bard simply thought he knew more about nature than me. He said that one of the only edible plants that can make you cry is onions so I proved him wrong."
Jovi stared, unsure whether they wanted to hear the rest of the story. "What did you do?"
Avril shrugged her shoulders, tossing their hair over his shoulder and furrowing her brow. "I don't see why this is important to the fact he's gone missing."
"Avril, what did you do?"
They sighed, giving in. "Fine, fine. I got a watermelon, carved 'Hytori will never love you,' onto it and threw it at him. He read it, then began to cry and ran and hid."
Jovi blinked, shocked. "You what?!"
"Look, I proved him wrong-"
"You know how much he likes Hytori, why would you do that?!"
"To prove a point!" Avril argued back. He grinned. "Besides, if he loves Hytori so much that watermelon is gonna make him sob, he should just try making out with him already. It'll work, I'm sure Hytori is into the... physical stuff."
Jovi glared. "Avril, that was very mean of you. Alexander is sensitive and he is confused about his relationship with Hytori a lot, you shouldn't bully him so much."
"Fair point, fair point, that warlock is sending him so many mixed signals. But still, I proved him wrong. Watermelons make you cry."
Jovi sighed, pinching the bridge of their nose. "I can't believe you..."
