His eyelids fluttered open, blue eyes exposed to the sun's rays filtering the room, and the same all white room he's woken up to as usual. Although, there was something different in his room. He noticed his sketchbook sitting on the drawer next to him, and it confused him. He doesn't remember ever having it here, nor does he remember grabbing it yesterday. He also doesn't remember falling asleep on his bed either, he's sure he passed out from crying on the cold, hard, white tiled floor, instead of the bed.

He shuddered a bit as yesterday's events came back to him. He sat up and shook his head, willing his mind to just forget about what happened so he doesn't have another moment of PTSD, or a mini panic attack. Instead, he focused on the sketchbook, grabbing it off from the drawer where it rested.

He smiled as he remembered everything he drew; and realistically the smile was also because of the fond memories each drawing held. The flowers were drawn from the time Tony took him around New York, as a way to break him into the new world. He remembered them passing by a flower shop, the different colors and hues, shapes, sizes, even the different petals caught Steve's attention, and Tony was happy enough to let the soldier bask in each flower's beauty. The Avengers Tower, formerly known as Stark Tower at the time, was drawn way before Steve became an Avenger and knew Tony. It was a small cafe he had heard about that resided in Manhattan, so he decided to check it out. There he saw the big building and sketched it, looking up and realizing how much it loomed over the city, a true work of art nonetheless. The Avengers compound he drew was when he and Tony decided to take a lazy day while everybody else was out- well, everybody except for Banner, but the scientist mostly stayed in his own room, or in Tony's lab. And who could forget the Shawarma shop? It was the most mundane thing they could do together as a team; sitting around each other and enjoying a delicious delicacy, talking amongst each other. It was heartwarming.

The drawings he cared most about, however, were those of Tony. He opened the book and instantly landed on the first drawing he sketched on the genius. It was when he couldn't find Tony in his room that he had asked Friday where Tony was, only for the AI to notify him that he was in his lab. He brought his sketchbook with him, and Tony happily let him sit on the couch and watch him work. It was then that Steve got the chance to sketch Tony in his most natural habitat. He was working on upgrades to his Iron Man suit, leaning over the table with a screwdriver in his mouth, head slightly tilted as he looked inside the components of the suit.

He always thought Tony was so beautiful, and in that moment he wanted to capture the genius' beauty in his sketchbook, that way he could always look back at the drawing and smile at the fact that his favorite person was in his sketchbook.

After that first sketch, every page after was filled with Tony. His own smile never faltered as he continued thumbing through the pages, remembering each reason and memory of how and why this image was here. And still to this very day does he continue to think Tony is beautiful; even if his eyes are cold, and his posture is stiff, he's more distant with him than he's ever been, and he averts his gaze from his own, he's never stopped being the most beautiful thing he's ever seen.

He's beautiful in his own way, and there's nothing he would change about Tony's character. He loves how he forgets to eat and sleep, because that's more of a reason for him to care for the genius and bring him food that he's cooked, or going to Burger King and bringing him a cheeseburger. He loves the snarky comments that really annoy him, because he knows Tony has his own view on things that potentially make him question his own logic, but typically they try not to go too far. Tony is understanding in that department; he understands that he was at the time still trying to adjust, and he helped him remember the world, even if everything has changed. He loves the man through all his insecurities and nightmares, because just like him, he has his own. Tony is beautiful to him, inside and out.
