"Vesper. You better have a pretty good reason for waking me up!"
"Nightingale. I do. Jealousy's Claws."
"What about it?" The shorter female sat up straight, brown tresses framing her face messily as the last bits of fatigue and sleep escaped her bottle green hues.
Vesper leaned back, her head resting against the wall, arms crossed as she propped her feet on the edge of Lilliane's bed. "Well, I think you are right. So do the others besides the foolish king."
"Raxy?" A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she imagined the cold and stern Rax as foolish.
Emerald green hues glinted with amusement sharing the same thought as her best friend. "Indeed. Let us go and take over the world, Lilliane Hellsing."
"The world ain't ours."
"Then let us make it so. I want the truth."
"Alright. Just remember truth is always ugly."
"Ugly is beautiful and beautiful is ugly. Both are one. Isn't that what you always say?"
"Indeed I do. Esmerelda, get out now so I can get ready."
Within 20 minutes, the two were out of the house and in front of the Elysium. A small creature hugged Lilliane or so she thought. Turns out it was just Aiden or Wolf.
"Ai, that is dangerous."
"I missed you, Queen."
"I missed you as well, little wolf. Let us go inside now. Link, Esme hurry."
Avoiding the dagger gaze of the short brunette, both Lincoln or Hawk and Esme or Vesper hurried inside. Aiden and Lilliane followed after, the latter shaking her head wondering why she even bothered interacting with these people. I need coffee. Her soul cried at the deprivation from it's mate but alas coffee was not in the cards for her today.
They had finally settled in front of the bar.
"What is the plan?"
"I was hoping you would tell us, Lillis."
"Dude, you dragged me here."
"You are in charge and you know about Jealousy's Claws."
"Ugh-I hate you Link but true. Well, we cannot do anything until tomorrow."
"Why not?" asked Aiden.
"The portal doesn't opens until tomorrow night."
"To where?"
"Someplace you should never visit unless you have to." The underlying warning beneath the simple words were clear to the other four.
"Alright then. For today, I guess we have nothing to do." said Esme as she took her tenth shot. While the others were busy plotting, she had begun on her day drinking.
"Esmerelda! Must you drink all the time?"
"Oh shut it, Link. Just on my 11th shot now."
"Tequila?" asked Lilliane.
"Exactly."
"I will go now. I am too young and pure to watch this spectacle." Saying this Aiden vanished from plain sight.
"No one saw him vanishing right?"
"No and pure. Aiden and pure is too much."
"Ai is pure."
"No, Lillis, pure is you, not him, child." Both Link and Esme said at the same time.
"How do you know if I am pu-" Lilliane who was walking out of the Elysium, was cut off mid sentence as she fell to the ground as a silver bullet struck her heart.
"Lillis!"
A desperate cry, people bustling around, the sound of a glass shattering and hurried footsteps. Strong arms picking her up and gentle fingers smoothing her hair. Are these my last moments? Why am I not healing? I should be healing...
"Lillis! Stay awake!"
She heard it. Esme's frantic voice but she couldn't respond. She was too far gone. How unexpected that tragedy would befall tragedy itself.
