James tumbled into a set of unlabeled boxes and crates painfully. He was losing dreadfully to Davis who seemed to have acquired barely a scratch on him since their fight began, even with one arm down. The vampire was more worried for Natasha though as he could sense another lethal fight taking place outside. He prayed that his rose would be the one to climb back through that window.

He was also impatiently waiting for Steve to come with authorities or whatever the hell he was holding up for. James knew it was better with witnesses seeing this and he just hoped he could keep stalling Davis before he got here. If he got here. The vampire was starting to doubt if he actually hit the send button now, but it was too late for a second try.

"C'mon, is that really the best you got, freak? Pathetic!" Davis laughed maniacally but James wasn't unnerved. He could absorb the hits and the blows. He was just worried about his mate. "Give me a REAL fight! We didn't come here just so you could put on a show!"

James panted hoarsely as he spat out some blood. Indestructible creature, yes. But when it came to his brothers, all hell could break loose. He gritted his teeth and knew that he had no choice but to end this if he was going to get Natasha out of here. Screw that blonde dumbass!

"Fine, you want a fight?" he panted and pushed himself back onto his feet, swaying slightly with dizziness. "I'll give you a fight!!"

The smaller vampire shot forward like a shadow and ducked smoothly under Davis's crushing fists to land a good one on his jaw and caused him to stumble back. The crowd of his goons all booed of course, but James didn't pay them any mind. This was for his mate and nobody else!... Well, if there was a chance at saving Lanna as well, he'd take it. He knew he'd messed up big time telling her he loved her right in front of Natasha, but he just could lie to himself, or either of them anymore. No more lies!

Davis grunted in surprise and tried to keep his winning grin on his face, but it soon turned to frustration as he kept missing James. His giant size was no match for the smaller vampire's maneuverability. James ducked and arched around each blow sent his way and use his shaper nails to slice some marble skin into confetti. Davis yelled with fury and finally managed to pound James away, but the brunette just pushed himself back up. He was ready for more!

"Easy, freak..." he grunted as he regained some composure and glared hatefully at the smaller vampire who was besting him in front of his men. "Guess I underestimated you, Barnes..."

James was panting slightly and glanced to the window, as he did every second he got the chance. He sensed that the fight had somehow moved further away from the building and he considered the fact that the two women had left him for dead.

Having all these doubts pounding his head was throwing him off slightly and he wasn't quick enough to avoid the punch that sent him into the wall. James slammed into the wall and his crimson eyes widened as Davis came charging like a pissed off bull rhino and this time he managed to avoid the blow, but narrowly.

James somersaulted across the floor and watched as Davis righted himself furiously. He was starting to notice a pattern, though. With Davis so hellbent on killing him, every time he missed or James managed to escape another bone-crunching blow, he got more pissed and blinded him more as he blundered around trying to catch James.

With James's small size and maneuverability, Davis was like a helpless elephant trapped in a room that was just too small for him. All of his crew were glancing around at each other as Davis writhed and crashed James down, but the smaller vampire darted out of the way before another blow was administered to him. Some stepped out to try to assist their failing leader, who was only embarrassing himself if James was being honest, but Davis would shriek and send them back.
