That day seemed to be abominably slow for the vampire, who'd learned his patience of watching time slowly crawl by for hundreds of years. He watched dully as other office workers bustled by him with various papers to fax out and copy. James was still annoyed with Steve and just ignored him all together during the day, hoping he felt more terrible than he should have.

It was during lunch break that Rogers finally managed to corner the vampire who had been on a coffee run for the manager himself when the blonde found him in the break room. James sighed heavily and slowly turned his head to gaze at the blonde with menacing crimson eyes, holding the manager's mug carefully in one marble-white hand.

"Excuse me," he growled with venom in his voice, but that didn't seem to perturb the blonde as he grinned that stupid grin again. "Okay, what?"

Steve pulled his arm over to one side of the room so that they were out of earshot from Johnson and Garcia who were munching down on lugubrious ham sandwiches. He glanced around as if they were being monitored which just annoyed the vampire more and made him bristle, already late for the coffee's deadline and a raise he could smell in the future.

"What the hell do you want, Rogers!" he hissed and gripped the mug tighter, putting the handle in danger of snapping off.

"Okay, I'm going to sound like a broken record, but there's a new girl today!" Steve whispered strenuously and had no impression on the vampire who was more concerned about the coffee splotch on his black button down. "She's like, super hot James! All the guys are talking about her-"

"And I should care, why?" James interested, hoping to shut down this stupid conversation and get back to working until he could go home and do nothing, and possibly hit another bar. "I thought I had made it extremely clear to you that we are not friends, and that I am not interested in fraternizing with other office employees now, or ever."

Steve sighed and gestured to a table to possibly sit down and talk more about this "hot new girl", but James had had enough and pushed past him, heading for the door. "This district should be considering downsizing... " he muttered to himself as he pushed open the door and accidentally bumped into someone, spilling the cold coffee on the both. "Argh, watch where you're-"

The vampire's crimson eyes immediately noticed rose-red hair and a sweet fragrance that just filled him with a delicious feeling. The red was almost mesmerizing to him and it took him a second to collect himself and then meet the eyes of the stranger he had doused with dark roasted coffee. She was... as perfect as a porcelain doll! Her skin was light and fair that made the brunette think it was exceptionally soft, with a hint of blush on her cheeks and long lashes. Her shape was round and smooth in all the right places and her lips were full and plush, just as red as her fiery explosion of rose-red hair that made the vampire mentally drool. But her eyes... they were jungle green and seemed so sharp and focused, but yet somehow kind, in a way. She was... exquisite.

"Oh! My apologies, here I'll help-" James spluttered and came back with some napkins, handing a handful to her, feeling so suddenly discomposed. "Very sorry about that..."

Instead of scolding him or dealing with him in any way that he expected, she laughed. The sound sent a shiver throughout the brunette's whole body, and in that instant he knew he wanted- no, needed to have her. He was a little taken aback, however, when her alluring laugh caught his attention. Was she... mocking him?

"No worries, I always like to start my first day smelling like Starbucks," she mused and James glared down at his own ruined button down, attempting to wipe the stain away. The smell inside that place always wreaked to someone with enhanced sensibility like him. He couldn't stand it, but if that is what Rose liked, then surely he could like it too.
