Looking around Nandini found herself confused as always when her eyes landed on a girl, who was talking animatedly with her friends. Without uttering a word she ran towards her a engulfed her in a tight bear hug,” hi Navya” she said.. making the girl turn back and look at her, whilst reciprocating the warm approach in return.

“hi Nandini , where have u been all these days, I was worried sick about you..” said  Navya, in a complaining tone.

“don’t worry about me Navu, Im fine and ..” before she could continue further completing her sentence, Manik came there and said, “ baby let’s go..” his voice was cold and scary..

Gathering a bit of courage, Nandini thought to counter his order,” but..” but his look challenged her to disobey him..

“bye Navya”, Nandini said before leaving…

Inside the car

Entering the car, Nandini  looked at Manik, in order to gain some of his attention, but needless to say, his face remained stoic and devoid of any emotions, nor did he spared a look at her..

Pouting sadly, Nandini looked towards the empty road, from the windows.

After a while of silence , nandini looked at Manik pouting, trying to gain some of his attention.. “yes baby” manik said , his voice cold yet again..

“daddy, why are you angry ..” Nandini asked trying to know the reason of his sudden mood swing. Manik just stared at her, dead in her eye, scaring the poor soul for some unknown reason. After a moment of silence Manik said, “ we needa talk once we reach home.”

Nodding in understanding, Nandini looked down for the rest of her journey.

At home

After reaching home, Manik straight away ordered Nandini to freshen up and meet him in the study in twenty minutes. And like the obedient girl she was , she did as she was told and returned to the study in exactly twenty minutes in her shorts and mini mouse top.  

“today was a tiring day, wasn’t it..?” Manik asked in a deep voice.

“yes daddy” Nandini replied looking down ..

“what did I told you about not leaving my hand before entering the shopping center?” asked Manik with a strange calmness in his voice.

“you asked me to not leave your hand unless said so ..” said Nandini  her voice shivering slightly.

“ And did you listened to me” asked Manik making the little girl rethink her words before saying.

“no, I am sorry daddy.” Nandini replied, her head pushed downwards and eyes glistening.

“ what did I told you about disobeying?” Manik  asked ..

Nandini looked up at him, almost scared to say a word, knowing very well about what might be the consequences.

Pissed off Manik stood up and stand exactly Infront of Nandini... "Answer me.. " he barked out... 

Scaring the already scared girl.. 

"that I will get punished  if I disobey.. " Nandini whispered.. 

"yes " Manik said...  Looking dead in her eye..
