Theya stirred slightly as something poked her lower back. Inching forward a bit, she pulled a non-existent cover higher upon her body.
The poking persisted.
A frown crossed her face, her eyes squinting.
"Alpha" A sweet voice whispered.
Poke. Poke.
"Alphaaaa..."
Poke.
Turning around, she snapped at whoever awoke her.
"What?"
The little blonde girl in front of her yelped and stumbled back.
Selena's expression softened.
"Sorry Katey. Nobody likes waking up early."
Kate smiled cautiously, keeping her distance.
"Something's wrong with Matty. The witch is keeping him up in the air. He said to getcha."
Shit. Why didn't you wake me up, Zelys?
She was met by silence.
Zel? Zelys?!
She instantly panicked. Her wolf was always 'off' right before an impending attack from It.
"Where are they, Katie?"
The little she-wolf felt her Alpha's distress, hurriedly pointing towards the woods behind her.
Theya burst out running without bothering to respond. She had to find Matt. Something was wrong with her wolf and she could bet her right arm it had something to do with her newly found mate. Wasn't It supposed to stop after finding your other half?
She ignored every twig or bush in her way, barreling through the greenery after catching scent of him.
She stopped abruptly when she came upon Riley levitating Matthew, who was half shifted, growling and clawing at the air wildly.
They both felt her at the same time and their heads snapped towards her instantly.
"I'm not sure what happened to him, but I found him shifting into a manlier version of It, preparing to snack on your neck. He won't stop thrashing! I won't be able to keep him up much longer!"
Crap. No. No no no no no!
"This can't be happening. We still have no remote idea how to stop the posession. I can't... what are we gonna do?"
She shrieked as Matt lost altitude, a few centimeters, but still terrifying. Riley was losing reign over his powers.
Matthew growled and tried turning himself towards his mate.
"Theya..." he groaned.
"Riley, what can we do?" She turned towards her friend, just to catch sight of him falling, his arms an electrical blue hue, flailing desperately.
Followed by Matt, whose slow descent had lessened the blow of the fall. Despite that, he hit the ground with a thud, followed by animalistic groan.
She imagined a light inside of her, awaiting to be enveloped by her friend's powers, but was met by nothing. She had run out of fuel, aka magic.
"Shit"
She made to lunge for Riley and absorb some of his power, but her mate got between them, continuing to shift horrendously before her eyes, growling.
