!!!Trigger Warning!!!

She walked down to the shore, her footprints following her to the water's edge. Her short hair was flowing in the wind as she stared out at the calm ocean waves. She felt a tear roll down the side of her face, slowly leaving its wet trail over her cheek. Her honey eyes looked desperately at the waves, pleading without words, "please, take me away, take me far away." Her thin, white, silky dress blew gracefully around her knees as she took the first step forward, feet meeting the cold salty water of the ocean. She stopped and looked behind her. Her beautiful eyes scanned the road, houses, and sky, she was saying her last goodbye to the only place she had ever known. Not the people, but the place. A small relieved smile grew on her delicate features. She closed her eyes as she faced back toward the ocean. She thought, I'm finally free, and began to walk deeper into the water. Her small frame shivered from the cold temperature of the wind and water, but she persisted. The small part of her brain went off when the water met her chest, "if you go deeper, there's no more turning back." She took in a breath of salty air, sighing steadily as if answering the little voice in her mind, "I know." And she continued walking. She walked and walked until the water finally swallowed her, embracing her in its cold clutches. Her eyes stung as saltwater invaded them, but she refused to close them. She was watching the blurry moon in the midnight sky, saying her last goodbye to the white ball that rested with the stars. She wouldn't see it again, she knew that, but she felt a feeling of comfort come over her nonetheless. She felt truly and utterly free from the shackles of her life, shackles she wished she took off a long time ago. She sunk deeper and deeper into the merciless ocean, her white dress flowing around her lithe body, her short hair floating up while she went down. She couldn't help but think about how peaceful this scene was, the silence of the water, the blue hue that surrounded her, the moon shining sadly through the water. As she lost oxygen she felt a final wave of finality come over her, it wasn't sad, no it was a wave of emotions she hadn't felt in a long time. Emotions she thought were lost on her. She felt happy and loved. The way the ocean's water embraced her small frame reminded her of what a mother's love should feel like, what she wished she could have received. The water around her was merciless, but she felt a kindness in how the waves crashed about her. It made her feel like the ocean was hugging her, like she was being saved from the horrid reality that was her life. It was sad, especially to herself, that the only love she seemed to have received was from the ocean as she exhaled her last breath. She sucked in the water as her lungs burned for oxygen. The water poured into her the organs that lay in her chest, finally allowing her to slip into a sleep that lasted forever. Her last thoughts were filled with relief and happiness, "I'm finally free." And with that she was carried away by the ocean that held her firmly in its clutches.

A/N: It's a little rough around the edges and needs editing, but I liked it. I'm thinking about using it as sort of an opening to book (one I'm gonna actually try to write lol) I think it fits well with the idea I had. Anyway!! Thanks for reading!!! I hope you enjoyed it!!!!
