I dropped this story a while back, but I think it was an interesting idea so imma post it. It was meant to be a Zoro x Luffy, Vivi x Nami, Sanji x Usopp type thing, but you see none of that in this first thingy.
Luffy, Nami, Robin, Usopp, and Chopper were all zombies, churned close to the beginning of the apocalypse which was over 80 years ago. Luffy, Nami, Robin, and Usopp turned at the age of 17 and Chopper was turned at the age of 15. They were all at school hanging out at school together when the first hoard attacked.
-FLASHBACK The year 2016-
"Hey, Luffy!" Usopp yelled as he came through the lunch room doors.
"Usopp, what's up?" Luffy yelled back, giving his friend his signature smile.
Usopp went to take his seat next to Nami who was talking about some boring science test she had taken yesterday to the small chocolate haired Chopper who was glad he wasn't in the 11th grade yet.
"Did you notice some weird looking people outside?" Usopp asked as he shrugged off his backpack.
"Actually, yeah I did. They were all walking really weird too and they were pretty slow." Luffy responded.
"So did I, maybe they're part of some cult." Robin said, as she tuned into the conversation.
"You said that way too seriously..." Usopp said, which earned a chuckle from Robin and Luffy.
"Yeah, they actually reminded me of zombies, haha." Nami said as she began to laugh.
"Zombies?" Chopper and Usopp said as they both shared a scared expression.
"Yes, they'll come and eat all of our brains!" Luffy yelled out making the two scaredy cats jump.
"Zombies don't exist, don't worry." Robin said as she comforted Chopper, who ran to hide behind her.
Luffy smiled and began to talk to Usopp about the essay that was due in a few days. Nami groaned at the thought of reading about the ancient Romans and Robin began to say how fascinating the ancient Romans could be, and Chopper began to listen to what Robin was saying with I trust until she said something about being put to death.
Just when the school bell rang and pain filled screams rang through the school and the cafeteria doors were thrown open leading the students to run in terror at the bloodied dead bodies that were walking and running through the doors.
"What the hell!" Usopp said as the 5 of them began to run for their lives.
"Those're fucking zombies!" Nami yelled as she tried to run faster.
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!" Chopper began to cry as the situation settled into his mind.
The 5 of them ran to a classroom where the lights were turned out and they locked the door quickly.
"Holy shit." Usopp said as he caught his breath.
"Nami? How did you call that?" Luffy asked as he took in large breaths while trying to calm the adrenaline cladding through his veins.
"I don't know... We're screwed..." Nami said as she looked at the ground and put a hand to her thumping chest.
"I... I don't want to die..." Chopper said as he hugged Robin for comfort.
"Chopper, you need to calm down alright. We just need a strategy to get out of here." Robin said, patting the short boy's head.
"Yeah... We... we can get somewhere safe right?" Usopp said, his voice coming out shaky and unsteady.
