AFTER

When I wake up,

Rub my eyes to the sunlight.

I turn around to see

The beautiful smile, so bright.

Standing in front of me,

A maiden beautiful.

With how I like my coffee,

The cup- half full.

Had it been another day,

I would have stood my ground.

To stay at home with her,

No one would be around.

But no, and I am grateful so

That it isn't a day like that.

We're getting married next week,

And I am so so glad.

I promised to her,

I'd take her out today.

For it made her happy

Also, the weather was gay.

So, we got ready,

Ready to drive away.

And she looked so pretty,

Oh! What can I say.

And did we have a wonderful day!

On our way back,

She dreamt against the window

Of the car that I drove

Filled with only joy, no sorrow.

So I parked the car

And stood outside.

And crossed the road to a shop,

In which lovely pendants reside.

I selected one for her,

Our initials entwined,

B and G, they look so good

And that's how they'll look,

For the rest of our lives.

It felt like eternity,

Being away from her.

I live her, I breath her,

I'd give my life for her.

Brought back to my senses,

By a crash that sounded great.

Tears form in my eyes,

I couldn't believe my fate.

My car was in pieces,

Looked more like a metal box.

My beautiful fiancé inside,

Inside, lay her corpse.

My world has ended

For she is my world.

I am nothing without her,

I have no worth.

I saw a car coming,

I want my Gemma back.

I ran in front and gave my life

Me, death had grabbed.

I saw her when my eyes closed

Smiling her pretty smile.

And hand in hand away from earth.

We went on for miles.

We like to hear just one story,

And that is the fate we had
