It was Halloween, 2009. I went to this lady's house and had no clue who it was. My mom sat and talked to her for hours and when we left she said it was Gregs mother. I still hadn't met Greg in person but I knew he was gonna be down for Thanksgiving.

My mom had finally found her a boyfriend and she was happy. When I met Greg he was kind and never stopped talking about his son, Matthew. Eventually I met Matthew and I wanted nothing to do with him. He was rude and annoying. Matthew would push me and Haylee around and think it was fun to talk down upon us just because he was a year (two Years for haylee) older than me. We never got along.

February came around and Greg came down to visit. He lived up North in Maryland and worked for the Army. (He never went into combat but he did other services for them.) He had brought his truck and in the back of it was two feet of snow. You can imagine how excited Haylee and I were when we saw it. We played in the back of the truck for hours.

Eventually we met Greg's daughter Jordan and her daughter Amiyah. (We call her Mimi) Jordan was nice and hilarious. She was the complete opposite of Matthew.

My mom hated living so far away from Greg and she also hated how she only saw him once a month. But that's still no excuse for what she did. I remember the first time she ever mention the horrible news to us like it was yesterday. I blamed myself constantly thinking I did something, up until about a year ago.

I was in the shower (I don't have any clue as to why she had to talk to me then but she did.) She had asked me how I'd feel about her moving to Maryland with Greg. I remember feeling my heart sink. We sat there in silent until I said that I would not like it at all and that I wanted her here.

That was in January 2010.

A few months went by and she hasn't mentioned anything so I just forgot about everything. March came around and it was my birthday. I had family over and we celebrated for a little while and by this time Grant was three Years old so we were all running around and having a good time. April went by, then May came.

We were still going back and forth between houses and living our lives the way they had been for four years. And then things began to fall apart, and fast.
