Chapter 1 - Meeting

Walking in the forest, I tried to figure out the reason I was here. The light seeping through the gaps of the leaves high above me blinded my eyes as I tried to see the sky. Knowing that I can't do much, I simply walked again knowing the outcome of this journey. As expected, the dazzling blue pond came into my view and I sat down at the edge of the pond waiting for it. I swing my leg gently in the water creating ripples that moved for my end to the other end of the pond. The forest looked different somehow, more sunlight and more life compared to how it was a few years back. I knew that as I grew older, the forest grew more life and it became brighter.

Where is it? I thought as I looked around for the wolf that will always come here at this time. My eyes  darted back to the pond and followed the ripples of the water to the other side of the pond where there, it stood proudly on its four legs and stared at me with its pale blue eyes. I stood up abruptly and turned, getting ready to run away from the wolf when it suddenly appeared infront of me. Without leaving my eyes on the wolf, I slowly stepped to the side to gain more space between me and the wolf. The wolf, knowing my intention, also moved according to my steps.

I held out my hand although I knew it was no use at all. I looked behind me to check whether the pond was still there but somehow or rather the pond disappeared leaving me and the wolf alone in the clearing in the middle of the forest. As soon as I turned m head around to face the wolf, the wolf lunged in my direction and quickly snapped its jaw shut onto my neck

Oh shit, I thought as a sharp pain starting from my neck ran through my whole body like electricity. Within seconds the pain moved from my neck towards my toes.

'FUCK!' I sat up straight from my bed, gasping for air as I calmed myself down knowing it's just the yearly dream I had. After one year of not having the dream, I tend to forget about the dream before it came crashing down on my neck. Literally.

I swing my leg over to the other side of the bed when my alarm clock rang , shocking the hell out of my life. 'Stupid alarm clock' I muttered as I stopped the ringing and got out of the bed.

After bathing, I put on my uniform that consist of a white blouse and a maroon skirt that falls right above my knees. My blouse was plain white and it fits nicely on my small frame body. Looking into the mirror, I turned slightly to my right and left to make sure that everything looks nice and perfect until my eye zoomed in on my natural-made tattoo.

The tattoo came about after I was bitten by the wolf. After I got bitten, I woke up in pain the next day having the same dream that I had earlier on. It was the most painful experience one had to go through every year on the same day and the tattoo seemed to be growing every year after the dream. I remembered showing my tattoo to my parents who freaked out about it. They brought me to the doctor who claimed that the tattoo was not artificially made. It was as though it was there since I was born which is not true at all.

At first the tattoo was a small black star and after a few years the pointed edges of the star extended out into these tentacles that now reached behind my ear and to my collar bone. Curious, I unbutton the first few buttons on my blouse to see where the tentacle has extended.

Weird, I thought as the tentacles seem to reach further down to my left breast. I pulled down the cup of my bra and was shocked to see the tentacle circling my left nipple.

'Okay, this is weird and very kinky', I smiled to myself.

"Emily! Come down here for your breakfast! Sarah's fetching you today, remember?!" my mom shouted breaking my day dreaming. I quickly straighten out my skirt and put on my shoes. I skipped down the stairs to find my mother cooking bacon in the pan.

"Hi, mom" I kissed her on the cheek and sat down on the chair.

"Remember to cover your tattoo with your hair dear" my mom replied while handing me my bacon

"Yes mom, what time is Sarah coming?" I asked her while stuffing my face with one of the bacon that my mom cooked.

"She called saying that she's coming over in 5 minutes. And to tell you not to be late or else she'll leave without you again," mom said as she sat down beside me.

"5 Minutes?! Shit Shit shit," I quickly grab my toast, grabbed my bag and headed down to the driveway.

"Bye mom!"

I ran down to the roadside infront of my house just in time to see Sarah turning into my driveway

"Hey Sarah!!! I'm early!" I shouted and waved at my best friend in the driver seat as she stopped infront of me.

"Wow, Em. Bet your mom is the one who reminded you what time I was coming right?" Sarah replied pulling down her glasses to point me with her eyes.

" Haha! You know me, Sarah. I need somebody to remind me about everything"

"Yeah Yeah, buckle up girl. We're going for a ride"

Not long after that, Sarah parked her car at her usual slot and we proceeded to meet up with our two other friends. The school was buzzling with students doing their own stuffs. The cheerleaders going about with their own routine at the small grass patch beside the entrance, the music squad with their guitars and instruments playing at the other side. Students can be found chatting away at the steps leading to the front gate or the not so lucky ones are being dumped into the dumpsters by the footballers.

As we walked to the cafeteria, we passed through the motorcycle's carpark and we saw about 5 of this amazing looking bikes. All of them are black and shiny with their metal parts polished. The bikes are not so big but they look really jam-packed with a lot of speed for those adrenaline junkies.

"Nice bike," I commented to Sarah as we looked over at the bikes.

"Never seen them before," Sarah replied, trying to get a closer look at the black bikes. " you think there might be new students in school," she added.

"Yeap, there are new students in school, Sarah," a guy's voice confirming Sarah's suspicions. I turned around and saw Seth.

"Seth!!," I cried as I hugged him tightly.

"Hey, what about me?" another guy's voice asked behind Seth. I peeked at the corner of Seth's body and saw Darien. I snickered and threw him the biggest smile that I could give, to him. I slightly pushed myself away from Seth to look at our group of 4.

Seth and Darien was both tall and towering over me. Seth had black spike-up hair and has these nicest green mesmerizing eyes that can look into your soul while Darien have platinum blonde hair with black eyes. Both of them have a perfectly fit body as they are in the track-and-field club. Sarah and me, in other case, was in the library club. While Sarah had hair like Darien, I had black hair like Seth. My black long hair cascade and curled slightly down my neck to my chest area and ended up right above my bottom. That was why, I was able to cover up my tattoo with my hair. Sarah, on the other hand, have short tomboyish hair that made her look like one of those girls from the track-and-field club.

"You were saying, Seth?" Sarah continued, wanting to hear about the new students that owned the nice bikes.

"I heard they just transferred in from somewhere and they are in the same year as us. There's a total of 5 guys, if I'm not wrong," Seth explained while looking up to look like he was remembering something else.

"Hmm, okay then. Let's go to class now. We're not going to achieve anything by just standing here," Sarah pulled me over to class while I continue to smile and waved crazily at Seth and Darien who were now smirking away at my actions.

At Class

I was now sitting nearest the window at the last row, minding my own business when the teacher's loud voice broke my dream.

"Class! I would like you to meet, Aidan Walker. He's our new student and please do welcome him in our class."
