Tell No Lies

Chapter 2

Rushing inside as fast as I could, I collided into Kyle as he closed the door. His body heat surrounded me as he hugged me tightly. Right now, I could use ever little bit of warmth I can get. Luckily Kyle keeps in toasty warm in here just incase I come to him needing help.

It's pretty rare that I get this close to Kyle. I mean before he bit me, I'd hug him and whatever but I guess it's just that little bit of suspicion of him biting me again that drew a barrier between us. 

He took my cold hand into his and held it close to both our bodies. I would back away because his arm is leaning against my chest but I'm cold and really don't wanna shift.

Becoming sluggish and exhausted, I leaned on him. Not just hugging for warmth, I literally leaned on him like you did lean on a wall. " I'm tired, Kyle. 

" Ok, come on." He helped me down the hall and to his room.

All the way to the end of the hall was his room. I collapsed face first onto the bed on the verge of falling asleep with no energy to move what so ever. Kyle just sighed and picked me up, setting me on the soft bed properly with my head on the pillow. 

I can feel him pull off my black timberland boots and pull the blankets over me. It was quiet. I don't really want to fall asleep but my eye lids feel like they're a hundred bricks. Wasn't any help that he started to caress my head either.

" This is just kinda like when you came back to human form." He spoke softly. " You get tired for a while but you'll be fully energized when you wake up. Get some sleep."

Yeah yeah... Just before I dozed off, his warm lips pressed against my forehead gently.

Jerking awake hearing a loud noise, I shot up glancing around. What in the hell was that! Slowly, I crept to the doorway and peeked out. Low and behold I stood staring at a half human half wolf thing crouching amidst blood and glass. 

" You cannot be here, Jake!" Kyle shouted at him. " Daciana is already freaked out about the cold weather, I don't need her to snap my neck if another one of us is here." 

I watched as he ran his fingers threw his hair, starting to pace. " Please, you gotta help me." A boy's voice spoke. It must be the half shifted person right there.

Kyle shook his head. " I can't help you, Jake. I understand that you're scared. I get it, I was a newbie once too but when your a wolf, there's nothing to be afraid of. Stick with the others and you'll be fine."

" Ulrick kicked me out of the pack."

Ulrick? Who the hell is that and why does he have authority to kick this so called Jake out of the pack? I thought Kyle was the Alpha... Unless he lied to me but I'd be pissed if he did. I mean he expects me to always tell the truth no matter what but he just goes and lies whenever he feels like it.

" Says he's the alpha." Jake finally finished.

Ohh! So that's why. I don't think Kyle likes the fraudulent Alpha news too much. I wouldn't either but he looks really pissed. He paced faster, clenching his fists. 

I don't want him to take it out on that boy. He looks so scared... A light bulb went off in my head and I crawled back into bed, fixing the blankets to look like I just woke up before calling for Kyle. The sleepy voice wasn't too hard to do since i couldn't help but yawn.

Kyle poked his head in. " Yeah? What's up?"

Uh- " My backs sore and I can't get out of bed."

Wow, Daciana. Wow. That's the best you could come up with? He's not gonna buy that, who am I kidding. I'd be lucky if he just told me to suck it up and not get a back hand for lying.
