Note: I am writing this because of my recent medical experiences. I have based the characters in my life.  I actually am not a medical student and don't like medical stuff (it freaks me out sorry) so I don't know a lot about medical things so I will try to explain things as much as I can but again sorry if it's unclear. There are a bunch of medical terms in here but I hope you still enjoy it!

Y/N POV

"OMG Y/N!" Your best friends, Julia, Hailee, and Hallie run towards you and grab the backpack dangling from your shoulders. "What happened to you?" Hallie squeals, slowing down her pace to match yours.

You hobble down the hallway, limping horribly.

"So I went to the clinic yesterday right," you begin. They nod. You had been complaining about your leg to your friends since the beginning of the fall season and last night you finally went to a clinic.

"I thought that there was nothing wrong and maybe I was wimpy or something but they took an x-ray anyway." You swallow hard. "The doctor said-" You start to answer but you're interrupted by Jungkook running over to you.

"Omo! Y/N, what happened!" His eyes are full of concern. You had told him that you went to the clinic yesterday too but you didn't tell him the outcome.

Jeon Jungkook, your ex-crush. You guys were close friends and you both developed a crush on each other. You broke it off at the beginning of the year before you guys could date, however. You were just ssum (something-where you both like each other but you are not dating). You didn't really see a point in dating and you didn't want to lead him on so you ended it. Now you guys were just friends.

"She was explaining but you cut her off," Hallie says sassily. Jungkook rolls his eyes at her.

Julia, Hailee, Hallie, and Jungkook have an interesting relationship. They are kinda friends but more through you. They didn't dislike him but they really didn't understand how you guys were so close.

"The doctor said that there is a tumor in my hip bone." All four of them gasp and cover their mouths.

"A-a tumor?" Jungkook stutters. You nod glumly.

"Is it cancerous?" Hallie asks.

"I dont know much about it," you say sighing. "My mom is taking me to a different clinic today."

They all nod solemnly.

"Does it hurt much?" Julia asks. You nod. She smiles sadly.

You look at Hailee who hasn't said anything yet. "You okay?"

"Hm? Oh yea, I'm just thinking, sorry," she replies.

You notice that Jungkook has also become silent but you don't say anything.

"When is your mom taking you to the other clinic?" Hallie asks.

"Sometime during the day, I think. They had to call in the morning to make an appointment but it opens after school starts. I think I'm gonna get an MRI."

They all nod again, deep in thought.

Overhead, the warning bell rings, signaling that there are 5 minutes before class starts.

"Will you update us at lunch?" Hallie asks.

"Well I'm not sure I'm going to be at lunch but I will if I can," you assure them. They nod.

You all say your goodbyes and head off in different directions. Sadly, you guys don't really have a lot of classes together.

You go through your morning, taking some medicine when it's the right time.

In the 2nd period, your teacher comes up to you and says, "Hey Y/N, your mom wants to talk to you." She points outside the classroom to where your mom is standing.

Both of your parents worked at your school. In fact, you actually live at school. The school has multiple floors of dorms and your family stays in a vacant dorm floor.

You eagerly go to meet her.

"What's going on? Am I having an appointment today?" You ask her.

"No, not at this place but we scheduled an appointment with a surgeon in Seoul. We'll go see him tomorrow."

"Oh okay." You don't know whether to feel relieved or more nervous.

"I'll tell you if I get more news." You nod at her. Going back to your class, you can't help but feel scared.

"Y/N, your mom." The teacher comes back pointing at the door again. Your mom is waiting there again. You go out to meet her not knowing what to feel.

"Change of plans. We are going to go to this clinic in Daejeon first today. You're probably going to get a MRI. Maybe a biopsy."

Biopsy*. The word chilled you to the core. You had never had a surgery, never had anything medical really. The most that you've ever injured yourself is some bruises and maybe a sprained ankle. But nothing as serious as this.

"Come to my office after this class and we will go."

"Okay, sure. I have a free period after this." You head back into your classroom trying to focus on your work but you can't. You can't stop thinking about what is going to happen to you in about 1 hour.

*For those of you who don't know what a biopsy is, it's where they take a sample of the part that is bad so that they can take it and test it in the lab.
