Breah's povI sat down on the swivel chair that was in my hotel room and placed my computer on the desk in front of me.
I opened it up and clicked on the search engine. My goal was to find a volleyball team that had the potential and confidence to beat Ushijima and knock some sense into him. His mindset was going to be his downfall one day, I want him to see that. I understand that it's not exactly my place but, there is just something about him that wants to help him be the best that he can be.
I pulled out my phone and began to scroll through pictures that I took of Ushijima, in each one of them he had a blank expression on his face.
'I wish I could see him smile' I thought to myself.
Everything about him just lured me in. He was constantly in my mind and I couldn't get him out...I sighed and began to continue my research until I accidentally clicked on a random video.
"Only my clumsy ass" I mumbled to myself.I began to click off until I saw a little ginger headed boy fly in the air. I quickly restarted the video to get a better understanding of what I just saw.
The ball had fallen to a dark-haired boy, who was actually really cute, then he perfectly set it to the ginger... He was in the air before the ball left the setter's fingers.
The video title was Karasuno vs Aoba Johsai.I frantically began to do more research.
This was it, this is the team I've been looking for! Karasuno... This team wasn't based on pure power, they have teamwork, trust, and most importantly confidence in their skills.
I went to bed that night very happy. I had proof to prove Ushijima wrong.
🍛🍛🍛After the bell rang signaling that school was over, I ran as fast as I could to the gym. I wanted to beat Ushijima there.
I had finally got there but I was too late, he was already there. I began to approach him until I noticed a familiar ginger and dark-haired boys sitting at the window.
"Arent those college students?" asked the dark-haired boy.
"Collage?!" asked the ginger-headed boy surprised.
"Well, no other high school in the prefecture stands a chance against Shiratorizawa." said the dark-haired one.'Seriously? I knew the other kids they were playing against looked older but college students?' My thoughts began racing.
"Took you long enough" said a familiar voice.
The dark-haired and ginger stood up and confronted Ushijima.
"I'm Kagaeyama from Karasuno High!" said the dark-haired one, " Yes. I applied for this school but I wasn't accepted-"
He was interrupted by Ushijima."That's not surprising" Ushijima said coldly, " We don't need a setter who can't serve the ace at this school."
At first, I was taken aback by his sudden rudeness but then continued to listen to their conversation.
Ushijima began to talk about someone named Oikawa and how superior his setting skills are to Kagaeyama's.
He went on and on about how Oikawa's team was weak, but Oikawa himself wasn't.I didn't know if I was mad or jealous... Maybe both. I didn't like how he spoke so highly of this Oikawa, how he made power seem so superior. I had felt jealous because he spoke more words to Kagaeyama than he did me...
"If Seijoh is 'infertile soil', are we concrete or something?" asked the ginger.
He had this look in his eyes, it was pure confidence and devotion.
He began to walk towards Ushijima without any fear.Suddenly a ball came flying out of the gym. Ushijima jumped up to catch it but... The ginger had beaten him to it.
My mouth was dropped open in awe. They have to be the dynamic duo I saw in the video last night.
This guy couldn't have been taller than five foot six, yet he managed to jump higher than Ushijima."I'm Hinata Shoyo, from the concrete." spoke the ginger, he walked towards Ushijima and handed him the volleyball, "I'm going to beat you, and go to nationals."
They began to have an intense staring contest, I thought a fight was about to break out.
But nothing happened.
The two boys thanked Ushijima for showing them around and left.I began to approach him once more ready to rub in what just happened to him. He was muttering something to himself.
"Stamina, speed, acceleration, vertical jumps, fighting spirit..."
He began to smile as if he was possed by a demon. I felt a chill go down my spine."Umm Ushijima? Are you okay?" I asked cautiously.
His eyes met mines and then his sinister smile suddenly turned cute.
I felt my heart skip a beat."You're smile is so cute!" I said casually.
His smile disappeared as his eyes grew wide. He began to blush.
I had realized what I had said and tried not to freak out, I was forgetting the whole reason I came here."Um I hope you were paying attention to those two boys. They will be your team's defeat this year. Karasuno embodies confidence and teamwork, it's the team I'm willing to bet that will make you understand that power isn't everything."
"A bet you say?"
I looked at him confused.
He began to smirk.
"If a bet is what your willing to place then I am too. If and when my team wins against Karasuno then..." he trailed off.
"Then what?" I asked impatiently.
"Then go out on a date with me."I stood there and began to feel my knees go weak.
"Okay, I have no problem with that. "
We stood there for a moment in silence, he was just standing there towering over me.
"What do you want?" he asked blandly.I thought he was being rude until I remembered that he's always been like this.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"For your side of the bet, what do you want?" he asked again.I mentally face palmed myself.
"Right, um... If I win then I want you to..." I began to think.
" *gasp* watch every Harry Potter movie with me!"
"Harry Potter? The wizard thunderbolt on his head?"
"Yup"
"Ok then deal" he said as he held out his hand.
I took his hand and we shook on it. Now all I had to do was wait until the day Karasuno takes on Shiratorizawa... I had hope that they could do it, they needed to win.to be continued...
