When I opened my eyes under this pitch-black water, I already knew the whole earth was destroyed-what I didn't know was that I discovered a completely different world under the ocean, miles below the earth.

What I expected was that I would be knocking down the doors of whichever place it is where people go after closing their eyes forever. I expected to be dead along with all the billion lives lost, I expected my body to be lying somewhere on the seabed of the vast ocean being a feast for the scavengers, I expected reuniting with my family on the opposite side as they received the same fate as mine.

What I didn't expect was waking up. Alive.
Alive and struggling to breathe in these deep black waters, swimming was not an option for me as I never learnt it. Flailing my arms around, I tried to steady myself, just as I felt something closing in on me, I felt scales grazing my arms and legs, assuming them to fish, as I literally could see nothing except darkness. Suddenly I felt myself being pulled up, I realised it had been a net closing around me, I believed I was trapped in a fisher's net, hopefully, or that is if there were any fishers left.

Soon little light emerged through the dark waters, allowing my eyes to adjust, truly there were fishes caught in the net just like me. Soon I broke the surface, pulling my head out, I lunged for air. Looking around all I could see was water, but what took my breath away from me yet again, wasn't the expanding water below, but the sky which stood above, or should I say not the sky.

And then I knew, I knew nothing at all.
