CHAPTER TWO

Next Morning

Mother and Father apparated us to the wizarding world while holding our luggages and pet foxes. My heart is beating fast and not knowing why I'm feeling this way since I'm supposed to be happy for our first day of school. Mother mentioned that Hogwarts started having classes one week ago since they're having second thoughts before on sending us to boarding school. Magnus gave me a reassuring smile that made me calm down for a bit, entering the big castle; my brother stared at the beautiful building in awestruck which made me feel the same way. Our parents told us that everything will be alright and there's nothing to worry about, eomma patted my shoulder gently and gave me a smile.

As our family went near to the great hall, an old lady wearing black robes was talking with a bucked toothed boy and a scary looking guy standing near her was sneering at the young boy. The student became red in embarrassment while scratching the back of his head and nodded at the professor. I giggled silently and shook my head from the thought of the silliness of the boy which made me smile a little, causing Magnus to smirk at the bucked tooth boy and snickered. The three people noticed our presence coming and turned to our direction, the lady immediately recognize our parents and begin talking; the boy immediately leave and went inside the great hall without looking at anyone.

"Good Morning Mr and Mrs Wong! We've been expecting for your arrival and your children" The old lady greeted and introduce herself. "I'm professor Mcgonagall and one of the teachers of the subjects"

Mother and father greeted her with pleasant look. "Good Morning"

Professor Mcgonagall turned to our direction with a smile and said. "They must be your children, Magnus and Tiffany Wong"

Father nodded and replied. "Yes they are professor, we won't be able to watch them being sorted into the house since we need to be at the ministry"

The Professor reassured them and said. "I understand Mr and Mrs Wong"

Our parents turned to us and gave us an apologetic look as Mother spoke for the last time. "Take care my dear ones and please be careful"

We nodded and waved at them as our parents apparated to the ministry of magic.

"You can leave your things here outside and Mr.Filch will be the one to take care of it, the students are waiting in the great hall" Professor Mcgonagall gestured her left arm at the of the hallway which made us placed our things on the ground.

Me and Magnus followed the professor inside the great hall without making any noise, hearing laughter of students surrounding the whole hall. Everyone stopped talking when they noticed me and Magnus entering the great hall, I couldn't exactly point out their facial expressions if they're being bewitched or enthralled by our presence. It made me uncomfortable while receiving a lot of unwanted attention since it was our first time attending an actual school that has dozens of students. Male students are focused on watching every movements I do with alluring expressions, while the female students are gazing at Magnus with dreamy looks. I looked down on the ground while biting my lower lips in nervousness, which made my heart beats fast with the peculiar attention from the students.

Professor Mcgonagall told me that Magnus is the first one will be sorted and noticed an old looking hat placed on top of the stool. The lady grabbed the sorting hat and waited for my brother to sit on the stool before placing it on top of his head. I stand at the corner part of the great hall and watch Magnus sitting on the stool while wearing nervous look and didn't expect many students would be able to watch the sorting hat ceremony. I could still feel some eyes staring at me and decided to ignore since it's making me awkward, remembering our mom telling us about the Veela heritage that our presence can affect towards the people around us stronger than the half and part Veela's. I could hear a girl whispering to another person that we look like we didn't came from London which made me frowned from the rude comment.

The sorting hat started speaking with clear voice. "Magnus Wong! It's very rare to have a pure blooded Veela in this generation especially if your kind has been decreasing over the years. You have a strong and determined personality that makes you decide what you think is right thing to do...you'll be better in SLYTHERIN!"

The whole table of Slytherin started roaring in happiness as my brother went towards to the green tied students and gave him a welcoming look. Magnus sat down beside a Korean lad with white blonde hair while facing to the group of the platinum blonde haired boy who was congratulating him for being sorted in Slytherin. My brother is already sorted in Slytherin and it's my next turn to be sorted but which house? I don't know where exactly I want to be sorted since I'm kind of difficult to be read. Professor Mcgonagall gestured to go to the wooden stool that made me walk gracefully towards the sorting hat, since mother told me to maintain grace poise whenever I go since I'm a lady. Everyone shushed when they noticed me walking towards the stool and watch me intently that made me even more nervous from facing in front of the whole audience, the professor put the sorting hat on top of my head that immediately gasped in surprise.

"Tiffany Wong! Another pure blooded Veela and the younger sister of Magnus. I see that you're diverse and difficult to put which house that you belong hmm... you have characteristics that represent each of the houses but where exactly... you have a lot of bravery and determination like your brother... plenty of intelligence and loyalty to your love ones" The sorting hat paused for awhile and continued. "I'm challenge to the fact that I'll be having difficulty in sorting you little one but I think you'll be better in... RAVENCLAW!"

I saw a lot of Slytherin students were disappointed at the decision of the sorting hat in putting me at the house of Ravenclaw. The house where I got sorted started cheering for me and gave me a welcoming smile that made me return one. I sat beside the blonde girl with dreamy expression while looking at me with a friendly demeanor who started talking to me.

"Hello Tiffany. My name is Luna Lovegood and welcome to house of Ravenclaw" The blonde girl said in a dreamy voice. She pointed at the asian girl wearing Ravenclaw robes with long black hair and said. "She's Cho Chang and the girl beside her is Padma Patil"

The two girls in front of us nodded and smiled at me with friendly look, telling me that everything will be alright as long as I'll stay close to them. I felt someone staring at me from the back and turned around, seeing the platinum haired boy and his two friends or body guards are smirking at me; that send chills through my body and turned my attention back to the girls.

"Be careful with those boys Tiffany, they're bad news in the school and always make the lives of students miserable" Cho shook her head and crossed her arms over her chest. "You don't want to be one of the victims"

"I didn't come here in Hogwarts to make enemies... thank you for the warning" I manage to give her a small smile.
