Chapter 5: Phoenix Problems

Adira quickly zoomed to the Phoenix, the snow leopard determined to get shotgun and fly this thing. "ADIIIIIRAAAA!" Tazer yelled so loud the birds flew off startled from his yell. The fox chased after the snow leopard and once Adira got inside, she quickly slammed the button to close the hatch with the fox coming in hot.

She looked at the fox smirking while Tazer glared at her."Bye bye foxy" she taunted as the door closed and she made her way to the pilot room. But she forgot that the back door wasn't the only way in.

Tazer quicky leaped up in the air and grabbed onto the wing of the Phoenix. Adira meanwhile got to the pilot room and stared at curiously, her hands out ready to steer this thing but she was also confused on how to turn it on. "How did Leena start this thing?" Adira wondered puzzled as she looked at the buttons.

Tazer pulled himself up on the wing while Zinti and Bella finally caught up with him and looked at him from below. "Crazy snow leopard. I bet she doesn't even know how to fly the ship!" Tazer told himself annoyed as he got on the ship, his tail disappearing in Zinti and Bella's view.

Tazer got to the door at the pilot room and he swung himself and kicked the door open. BLAM! The fox accidentally collided with Adira and the two hit the ground hard, groaning. The fox's ears perked when he saw the steering wheel and quickly stumbled to it and turned on the ship.

Zinti and Bella heard the ship starting its engines but they were both surprised that Tazer had forgotten them. Zinti got her communicator and connected it to the ship "big brother what are you doing?" She asked him surprised.

"Huh?" Tazer said puzzled, his ears twitched at his sister's voice from the Phoenix's intercom. But before he could answer and realize that he left the pups behind, Adira got up and lunged for the steering wheel and grabbed it.

"Hey!" Tazer complained annoyed and the two started fighting over the steering wheel and the ship began to take off all rockety but it flew off while Zinti and Bella watched. Zinti's ears fell and rolled her eyes. "Brothers. Come on" she said annoyed and using ice magic she created some ice pillars that lifted her and Bella up. Zinti summoned more ice pillars for and her Bella to jump on as they followed the ship.

Meanwhile, with the lions...

"So you saw us landing the Phoenix? And who attacked us earlier?" Max asked Koda as the otter ran around, swinging on the trees and leaping. "Yeah. I figured that you had to be for a reason. My big brother. The king of the lions and the jungle" Koda said proudly, making a pose to look strong and it made the lions laugh at the otter kit's attempt.

"But why didn't you show yourself earlier?" Max asked puzzled. He knew his little brother wasn't the shy type. Koda just shrugged. "I was gonna do that. But then I saw that evil white tiger lady jump out of this purple portal..." Koda explained.

"Whoa whoa wait did you say you saw a purple portal?" Leena asked him wide eye and surprised and Max the same expression. Koda hanged upside down a tree and nodded. "A purple portal. Then that means whoever that was..." Leena suggested "Is working with Apachi" Max finished for her serious. Apachi was the only one they know who could open purple portals.

"Apachi?" Koda asked puzzled, tilting his head. Max looked at the otter "Apachi is a young sorcerer who wants the Elemental Amulets" Max explained "And we need to find the Amulet of Nature" Leena said serious.

"The amulet of nature?" Koda said surprised but he his tail lost hold on the branch and he fell on the ground. BAM! "Ow!" Koda said, rubbing his back as Max and Leena winced at the fall. Max shook his head smiling at his otter brother and he walked up and offered his hand to pull him up.

Koda grabbed his hand and the lion pulled him up. "Whoa! Ha ha!" Koda laughed excited when Max pulled him up on his back so that Koda was no riding on Max's back. They continued walking.

Leena looked at Max "The only to find the amulet is if we find the guardian according to Magus" Leena explained to Koda. "Yeah but since we got separated from our friends and one of Apachi's friends are here, we have to find that amulet. But for now we gotta to get to the village to find our friends" Max explained to Koda and the otter looked really intrigued.

"Can I help you? Pleeeease? I know my way in this jungle really well. Plus we got to meet the guardian so that's a bonus" Koda asked his big brother. Leena and Max chuckled at the otter. Koda reminded Max of himself as a cub.

"Ok Koda. You can come. But you have to stick close to me ok?" Max told him and rubbed the otter's furry head. "Yep! You can count on me" Koda said confident, his tail pointing at himself.

But something Koda said reminded Leena of what Max said earlier about knowing the guardian. "So you both met the guardian?" She asked them curious as they looked at her.

"Yep" Max answered her and Koda nodded. "Then can you tell me how you met the guardian?" Leena asked and then she looked at Max and glared at him. Max got surprised, having a bad feeling that he was in trouble.

"And how you have a brother you never told us?" Leena asked him sternly, putting her hands on her hips. Koda chuckled at his brother's problem. "Um..." Max started and them his staff glowed and a yellow light flew out of staff.

"Oh storytime! I love stories!" Magus said excited as he floated, listening. Koda stared at Magus curiously while Max groaned and everyone looked at him, waiting for an explanation...Max was in trouble.
