After Jaune's transcripts had gotten exposed, He was bullied by everyone at Beacon Academy and disowned by his father. After he runs away from Beacon, he gets transported to a world of fantasy and magic, where his life will change.
After jumping off from Barren Falls, Sabin, Jaune, and Cyan drifted down the river until they reached shore lying unconscious. A moment later a young teenager with wild hair tied up in a ponytail and mis-matched clothes made of animal hide. He wears a yellow shawl with large orange dots over his shoulders and upper torso clasped with an emblem resembling a monster's head, and his shorts are green with yellow dots and held up with a red belt. He wears no shoes, just red bands around his ankles and the middle of his feet, and he wears identical bands on his wrists. The boy's eyes are bright red. His hair is dirty blond.

The boy approaches Jaune looking at him in curiosity before turning his head to Sabin. He crawls towards him and pokes at his arm. Sabin then opened his eyes and noticed the boy. As soon as the boy was seen, he quickly ran away just as Jaune and Cyan woke up.
"Guys, did you see that?" Sabin asked.
"See what?" Jaune asked.
"There was a kid here just a second ago," Sabin said.
"What? What was a child doing out here?" Cyan asked as everyone got up.
"I'm not sure, but maybe we might run into him again in the future and ask what he was doing out here," Jaune said.
