Chapter 3. The game master

Pharaohs POV:

As I turn around to see where the voice came from a pair of crimson eyes stare at me, cold and full of bloodlust.

As the figure step forward out of the shadows we start to see who she is, wait is that a domino school uniform? And a boys uniform? Underneath the dark blue school jacket is a black shirt filled with be- Wait! That's my old shirt! How did she get that!?

As the shadows start to clear a sadistic grin appears on her face, or his face? But when he told us we be shocked when we see him, he wasn't lying. Because when he finally steps out of the shadows my heart felt like it was about to stop.

His hair was in the shape of a star, with golden bangs standing straight up. Just like mine, except his highlights were red and the bangs were like lighting bolts. He's basically a copy of me, but smaller.

"Who are you!? And why do you look like me!?"

This strange boy just laughing, what the heck is going on? I don't even know where we are, but now I got this weird doppelganger wanting to play with us.

"Aww.. You don't remember me? That's a shame, I guess since you don't remember me everyone else won't. Wow Pharaoh and here I thought you would never leave your friends, kinda pathetic if you ask me."

Friend? What's he talking about?

"Hold a darn minute!" Jaden interrupts, "Who are you? Where are we? And why are we here? I've haven't been able to talk to Yubel since we got here and have no clue what's going on! I was just taking a nap during class and ended up here! I need some answers people!"

Wow... I did not expect that, wait who's Yubel? I don't think anyone's here called Yubel.

"Yeah! Why do you look like the Pharaoh? And where are we? And why do want to play a game with us?" Yusei adds on.

"Hmm, I guess I should tell you a bit about myself. I guess, since I also don't have a name you can call me Yami. And for why you're here, I just want see how the future of heroes stand against the king of games."

"Uhh, sorry to disappoint you buddy. But we got the king of games, right here." Yuya tells him as he points to me.

"Oh, I beg to differ." Yami says, as puts his hand in his jacket grabbing something.

"Look out he's got a gun!" Jaden shouts, making us all step back.

"What? No I don't have a gun, but something even better. I even think the Pharaoh might recognise it."

What does he mean? I don't even know if this is a dream or not, this is just so confusing.

As Yami pulls his hand out of his jacket I don't think my brain can comprehend anything anymore...

He pulls out a golden triangle, with an eye in the middle of it. The millennial puzzle..

"Well with that look on your face I say I was correct, so I guess this proves who I am. Or would you rather like some other proof?"

I cannot believe it.. He really is me, I have no idea how this even happened..

"Uhhh, don't worry buddy I'm sure everything is going to be ok! I mean all he's asking from us is to do an obstacle course, I mean that can't be to bad." Jaden reassures me.

Huh, he does have a point. Besides if were going against myself it can't be dangerous, right?

"Hmph, so do you guys accept my game?" Yami ask us.

"Well what are the rules? We don't want to start a game if we don't know the rules." Yusei reply.

"I'm glad you asked, there will be 5 courses. Each one harder than the last one, and second you can't ask for help using your buddies."

"Buddies? What do you mean by that?" Yuma asks.

"Aliens, other versions of you, and spirits."

"So that's why I couldn't speak to Yubel!" Jaden tells himself.

Well that's bad, I won't be able to talk to Yugi during this. I guess this is to test our skills without using help.

"Correct, and if you die here you will be stuck in my soul room forever." Yami says with a creepy grin.

What!? Well, at least we know where we are... But knowing that's there a chance of death here send shivers down everyone spine.

"And I forgot to mention," Yami smile starts turning sadistic. "This will be a shadow game!"

"Wait what!?" Everyone, including me shouts.

"Yes, a shadow game. Is there something wrong with that?"

What!? A shadow game, what is this version of me thinking!? Is he insane!?

"No way! I cannot agree to those terms!" Jaden exclaims.

"Oh, well you can just leave then." Yami tells us.

Suddenly a door appears behind us, shocking us.

"Oh, well that was easy.." Yuga says. "Welp, it was nice meeting all of you. But I'm gonna get some lunch with my friends."

As we're about to leave the door suddenly slams shut.

"Hey! What's the big idea!?" Yuya shouts at Yami.

"I almost forgot to tell you guys something, I didn't want you to leave without knowing this."

"Well, go on. I have to meet up with Yuzu to go shopping."

"Alright, alright." Yami says a tiny bit annoyed. "If you leave now you be leaving something behind."

Huh? Something behind?

"And pharaoh, I think you would be very upset if you lost this." Yami says with a grin.

"What do you mean Yami?" I reply, now I'm definitely worried about this. Everytime he had something to show me it was not good..

"Heh heh heh.. Oh, I think you would like this prize." Yami says with a sadistic tone.

Yami suddenly hold out his arms and an person with their back to us, they appeared to be sleeping. But wait, those clothes seem familiar... Wait, it can't be!? As the body turns to us I think my heart finally couldn't take anymore...
