Erica's POV

"Yup, just you and me pal." I said flatly. "Welcome aboard to Operation: Sleeping Willow." I could tell from his facial expression that he was slightly disappointed in the name.

"Where to?" he asked.

"We're gonna leave to New York in just a couple of days. We've found you know who."

"So. Jos-"

"Yes! He's there." I cut him off, not wanting him to say it. He saw this and decided to push it.

"Awwww, come on. He's seriously still alive? Jos-"

"JUST SHUT UP!!!" I cut him off once again. He looked disappointed he couldn't tease me any longer so he backed down.

"Alright. Alright. I quit." he said jokingly.

"Thank you." I said annoyed.

"Welp, is there anything left that I should know before I leave?" he asked

"Other than your annoying? No." I teased.

"See! I knew it!" the Idiot shouted. I gave him one of my cold glares and he instantly piped up.

"Well, imma go. Cya later Erica!" Ben said loudly even though I was right there.

"Wait. Meet me at you know where." I said without drawing any attention to myself.

"Got it." he said calmly.

*Time skip cus I'm lazy*

As I twisted the ring to go in, I heard mumbling so I was really eager to go in and check it out. What I saw was not what I expected.

"Ben?" I asked

"Oh. Hey Erica." he said trying to pretend what I saw didn't happen. "Well? Are you gonna open it up?"

"Oh, right." I said slightly embarrassed as I went to unlock the door. "Lets go."

"Why did you want me to come here? Am I in trouble or something?" he asked jokingly.

"You will be if you don't tell me what you were mumbling about before I came in." I said, my voice rising slightly.

"Oh... You heard that?" he asked with a worried tone.

"Mhm." I said flatly.

"Well... uh... you see..."

"I don't have all night Ben."

"Right sorry." he mumbled, "I... just have a bad feeling about this mission.

"Why?"

"I don't know why.  I just know I have a bad feeling about it." he stated trying to be calm.

"Still... I want to know what you were mumbling not why." I said annoyed.

"I was going over all the things that could go wrong on our mission." he said, embarrassed. It was silent for a while until we got to the top. "You know when we first came up here?" he asked obviously trying to change the topic.

"Yeah"

"It was one of the best nights of my life." he said smiling. "What about you? What did you remember?"

"Well-"

"I swear to God if you say its classified or complicated, I'm gonna lose it!" he said his voice rising.

"O-okay... It was nice, I have to admit. It was the first time I'd opened up to anyone for a while." I said. I think I might have blushed a little, shit.

"Since when do you blush?" he said teasingly. I punched him in the shoulder.

"Ow! What was that for!?" he yelled.

"You know darn well what it was for." I joked.

"Ya'know... this is where it all began."

"What do you mean?"

"Well... this is where you told me about all the things that your dad actually did." he laughed.

"Yeah... so?"

"But most importantly. It was the first time you actually opened up to anyone. This is where it all started."

*flashback*

"You don't have a backup plan?" he asked confused.

"Like what, exactly?" I asked back.

"I don't know. Your father's Alexander Hale. Sooner or later, he's bound to notice you're missing, right? You haven't arranged some sort of system with him in case a mission goes wrong?"

I sighed. "No, That never really seemed like a good idea." Then it looked like all of the sudden, he just figured something out.

"Your father isn't a very good spy, is he?" he asked.

I was curious so I turned to him and asked, "Why do you say that?"

"You suspected there might be a decoy," he replied. "He didn't. In fact, he fell for it so badly, he took my protection, allowing the bad guys to grab me without a fight."

"They still had to take out the agents outside the door...

"Okay, less of a fight. That was a pretty bad mistake for someone who's done as much as Alexander claims he has."

"What do you mean, 'claims'?" I asked trying to get him to keep explaining.

"Well... your father talks an awful lot about all the great things he's done... but I haven't actually seen  him do anything great. So maybe all your father is really great at is convincing everyone how great he is."

"Wow." I said. "Finally, someone noticed."

*end of flashback*

"Yeah. Now that I look back at it. You're right." I said smiling to myself, and probably blushing, again.

"Erica..."

"Yeah?"

"You're blushing again." he teased.

"Shut up." I said before punching him into the wall.
