I'm hoping you liked the last chapter and I hope you like this one too. Thx, Bai.

Ben's POV

It's been 2 days since what went down in the Washington Monument. I still can't seem to get over it. I was ecstatic. Don't believe me? You should.

"Ben? You there? Or are you just gonna keep looking into space?

"Yeah, sorry Zoe. Jeez." I joked

"Don't mention it." Zoe said.

"No, but seriously. You've been doing this every day since you got your mission."

"Shut up Mike." I teased. Okay, I'm gonna make this really fast, Mike and Zoe are both my best friends other than Erica. Zoe and Mike had started dating ever since the Croatoan incident. Leaving me to be the third-wheel, even though they've been trying to help me ask Erica out. It's never worked out too well.

"Ben. For you."

"Thanks Mr. Sycamore." I said. Mr. Sycamore is my Advanced Deception class teacher, which not trying to brag, but I've recently gotten really good at it and don't even have to pay attention.

"Please just remember to burn it once you read it." he said, clearly irritated by something.

"Yeah, yeah. I know" I said sarcastically.

"What is it?" Mike and Zoe asked at the same time.

"Sorry, I gotta go." I said, disappointed I couldn't talk to them for longer. "I've got a plane to catch."

"Then what are you waiting for!? Go!" Mike yelled.

"Cya Mike. Bye Zoe. I promise I'll come back safe and sound!" I said, but then muttered under my breath, "I hope." I heard them start talking about something but I was already sprinting down the halls and was too far to hear them.

Ding. Erica's texting me? Again?

Erica: Get me on speakerphone.

Me: Okay?

She picked up on the 5th ring. "What do you need!?" I yelled as I ran through the busy Washington D.C. streets.

"Where are you I sent you that note 10 minutes ago!!" she yelled, clearly unhappy.

"Well sorry I didn't have time to get into a taxi!"

"Wait what!? Your telling me. That you're running the whole way to the airport!?" she seemed even more annoyed than before.

"Uh... Yeah. That's the gist of it." I said trying to stay calm.

"Ugh. Whatever. Just hurry your lazy ass over here."

"Okay... Cya soon Erica."

"Yeah, yeah. Just be here in less than 10 minutes."

*time skip*

"Finally, you got here." she said, annoyed by my tardiness.

"For the last time. I'm sorry." I replied.

"Whatever lets just get on the plane." When she said this I thought that I would end up with the normal seats. But, like almost everything else about this day that I've assumed, I was wrong. Erica decided to book us First Class. First Class! When we took off Erica ordered a salad and I ordered... well, nothing. I wasn't hungry because I already stuffed myself with breakfast this morning worried that we wouldn't really eat much til we got to New York.

"Why did you book us First Class?" I asked confused.

"Because we're closer to the parachutes." was her only response.

"Oh. That makes sense." I said disappointed, because I knew what that meant. There was a likely chance that this plane was going to blow up. Shit.

And that's when the left wing of the plane blew up.
