For the Love of Severus Snape Book 1

Chapter 9-A New Year and birthdays to celebrate

Harry stayed till New Years day. The students would be arriving back on the 3rd and classes would begin on the 4th. Our weekend was quiet, we ate in our quarters. We mostly stayed inside because it was so cold out with the heavy snow. I received some packages of baby clothes and supplies. I couldn't believe the baby would be here soon. I was getting bigger by the day. Severus made sure I got plenty of rest and relaxed. 

Once the term had resumed. I spent my time reading and relaxing. What times Severus wasn't teaching he spent with me. It was January 9th, Severus' 39th birthday. I had a small dinner prepared for us in our quarters. We ate and talked, and I gave him a little present. "Well I wanted to tell you, I have decided on what I want to name the baby" I said. "Really, I am happy with whatever you decide, darling" He replied. "Well I want him to be named after the most important person in my life, You my love" I declared. "Severus Tobias Snape Jr, we can call him Toby for short" I said excitedly. Severus smiled widely."I cannot express how happy you have made me. There was a time in my life when I thought I would never have a wife or children. I wish I had seen from the beginning that you were the one for me. So much time was wasted not being with you. You have brought light into what was darkness. I cherish you so much. You truly are the love of my life Marigold Snape." Severus said. "I love you to so much" I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck and he leaned down a kissed me passionately. He carried me up to bed and we fell asleep in each others arms. 

Over the next three weeks the days melted into each other. I got a letter from Harry once a week and Hermione spent her free time with me while Severus was busy with staff meetings. On January 30th, I awoke to a beautifully wrapped box next to my pillow. The note read, 

Happy Birthday My Love,

This day is so special, it is the day you were born. The day my soul mate came into the world. Open this and come down stairs I have a surprise for you.

I gently sat up and tore back the purple wrapping paper, there was a beautiful hand carved box as I opened it I saw a beautiful silver locket with an amethyst cluster surrounding it. I put it on got my shawl on and headed downstairs to the sitting room. As I made my way down the spiral stairs Severus was waiting at the bottom, he hugged me and kissed me "Happy Birthday Sweetheart" he said. 'Thank you, I love my present" I said kissing him again. "That's not your only present" he said aas he began guiding me into the sitting room. 

When I opened the door I found Harry, Ron and Hermione. They all yelled "Happy Birthday" when they saw me. I hugged them all, tears streaming down my cheeks. "Thank you all, this is such a wonderful surprise" I said. Since it was Saturday we spent it going into Hogsmead. I so enjoyed spending time with my new family. Ron and Hermione were my family now just as much as Harry was. I bought a dragon mobile to go over the babies cradle.

We ate at the three broomsticks and while Severus was talking to Hagrid I slipped out to go to Scrivenshafts Quill shop to get some new quill for Severus and then to Dominic Maestro's music shop to get a special music box I ordered for the  baby.When I returned Hagrid took my bags and we all enjoyed cake before heading back to Hogwarts.

It was a perfect day, the best birthday I had since Lily died. How I missed my twin sister. She was only a few minutes older then me but she always acted like the big sister. When we were growing up our mother always dressed us alike, even though we were not identical. When we were 9 we told her we wanted to dress differently. Lily was always in pink and ribbons and I loved to wear Purple and black. We were definitely polar opposites. She had my fathers brilliant green eye's like Harry's and I had my mothers dark brown eyes. And out hair, hers was a lighter shade of auburn where mine was a dark rich auburn.  I missed her so much but I knew she was with me always. She would be so happy I was having a baby, she always told me that Severus and I would be together. She was the best sister I could have asked for.

I went to sleep that night with a smile on my face and in the arms of the man I loved.
