"I know everyone in here has had at least a basic lesson on American history, learning about the same 20 people every year" Amaru said to his class

"I have a question for the class, when I say history what do you immediately think of" he asked

"I mostly think of people like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Henry Ford.." a red haired student named Conner said

"Anyone else" Amaru asked the class

"Imma be straight up with your Mr. Shakur, when you said History I did not have one thought of a black person, the first thing I thought of was exactly who he said Abraham Lincoln and basically all of the presidents" a girl in the first roll named Liyah said

"Would you like to elaborate"

"I just don't get a sense of my ancestors being included when we talk about American history, the only thing that pops up in my head is slavery, oppression, rasicm, and everything else but good thought" She continued

"I would love for me to hear a story about my brotha Nat Turner once in a while, doing what he did took guts and nobody can deny that" she ended her argument

"You really wanna praise a murder, a person who lead a rebellion to people kill" A boy in the back row said

"WHAT" half the class said

"What's your name" Amaru asked him

"My mane is Micah" he answered Amaru

"I mean Nat turner killed almost 100+ people and had a whole janky army behind him" he said shrugged his shoulders

"You wanna know why, cause he was tired of being someone's dog that could be told what do and being beaten on cause y'all was to lazy to pick up y'all musty ass feet to go and grow and pick up y'all own damn products, so yes I will applaud him for what he did to them 'American people'" she said as people clapped for her

"And if you really wanted me to believe the 'but he killed the American people' thing in that case you would be mad that they enslaved us but your not your mad that them white peoples got killed during that rebellion" she gave him a death stare

"Whatever I stand by my word of him be an animal and murder" Micah said slouch in his seat

"Why don't we have a debate, plus this is a way of getting into the new lesson" Amaru said not minding the argument

"Why don't Liyah come down and Micah come down" he said Liyah and Micah came down to Amaru desk side

"Y'all can ask whatever question that is needed to continue the debate and cussing is aloud just don't get to carried away" Amaru said sitting back in his chair.

"I want to understand why you think Nat Turner's reason was invalid to what he did" Liyah said

"I just don't think it was serious enough to have a killing spree" Micah said

"I need more details into why you think that, that middle school 'explanation' is not going to cut it" she said

"Listen Nat was disobedient anyway, and if he was that angry he could have just killed his master nobody else deserved to die" Micah argued

"Nah as far as I'm concerned that whole generation could have chocked and died, and why stop at one person, what difference was that gone make cause he was gone die at the end of the day so why no make it worthwhile and kill them all" she said
