I didn't smoke but the rest of them did. For some reason I just didn't. I don't know.

I looked at the tv and something about some Coronavirus in China.

"Y'all niggas scared of big rona?" Nene asked and Sleezy looked at the screen.

"Ian worried about no shit in China. Knowing yo pops Jehlani, he gone be stocking up on all shit." He told me and I nodded my head.

My father was...different. He spoiled me a lot but he was a very paranoid man and strict.

"I know. We already done got so many can foods in our house." I said sighing and nene started laughing.

Nene thought my father was fine but she doesn't have to live with and see all of the dumb stuff he does.

"So Jehlani pops can hit it but I can't? That's that bull shit I be talking about." I looked at him strangely.

Nene rolled her eyes irritated and looked at her phone. "We gotta go. The kick back start in 30 minutes."

I actually didn't wanna go to the kick back. They were forcing me.

"I have to go?" They all looked at me.

"Yes." They said in sync and I sighed. I don't want to. Being around a lot of people is irritating.

I stood up and rolled my eyes. "But I don't want tooo." I said dragging my words.

"Yo ass never go out. You need to have some fun." Nova said.

"Fine. I'm not staying long. My father stay trippin. Y'all know that." I told them.

My father didn't like me going to parties and stuff. He says that they be shooting anything up in St.Louis. I guess he was right but it only seem like our city bad because we got less people here than in Chicago.

So we was at the kick back and it was cool but I was ready to go.

I really was just sitting down and I noticed somebody who caught my eye.

It was a lightskin boy with dreads. I nudged nene shoulder, "Who is that?" I asked and she shook her head.

"He might be cute but don't fuck wit him Jei, he dangerous." She told me and I looked at her.

"How you know?" I asked. She sighed, "He in some deep shit. Like deep shit. Ion want you fucking wit him and he drag you along wit him." She said and I nodded my head.

Maybe she was wrong but she seemed serious. I never said I wanted any dealings with him. He was just cute to me.

I looked at him one more time and I rolled my eyes at how many girls was around him.

"Nene I'm ready to go."
