A/N: I'm changing this part since I know many of you have read many betrayed stories so Yea.

Ash was heading back to his house with Serena, Ash showed that he was happy he got 2nd place on the outside but He was broken on the inside, All along the way Ash was thinking about how 'Pathetic' of a trainer he was that he lost with the bond phenomenon and a Type advantage, Ash was also hurt that if he'd reacted quicker the person holding the trophy could've been him.

As they were heading to Ash's house to have a quick meet up with all his past friends, they passed a small T.V that was playing the Scene of Ash's loss again and again and the announcer kept repeating that how if Ash would've been more agile he could've won.

All of this was happening in Ash's head while Serena was literally fangirling about having a walk with Ash alone, "So Ash are you happy with your position this time around!" Serena asked Ash but as she looked at him she saw a sight she never thought she'd see, Ash was crying? "Ash what's wrong? You know you can share anything to me right?", Serena asked clearly worried about her crush, "It's nothing serena just that this was my 6th loss in a row" as soon as he said that an Idea popped into Ash's mind, "Serena would you want to Come to mt. silver with me? I wanna train so that I can become stronger and win the next league!" Ash said while fist pumping, and ofcourse as expected of Serena she said "Yes Ash I'd love to, But why me?" Serena asked anticipating the answer of the question.

"I dunno, you just give me confidence when I look at you, and I like spending time with you!" Ash answered to which serena blushed, "Sure then but first let's inform your mom," Serena said as she sprinted forward, "Hey, wait for me" Ash said clearly amused by this playful serena. 

They reached the Ketchum residence and told Ash's mom that they can't stay for alot more time, to which delia replied, "Oh Ash don't worry about me I'll do good since I know that you can't stay home forever, Now you two have fun there, But not too much fun" As she smirked at the last part. which caused Ash and Serena to blush

~Time skip to mt. silver because the author was lazy while writing this~ 

Ash and serena returned and threw a few pokeballs which revealed 2 riolus, a gallade, a scizor, a heracross and a gardevoir. Ash asked all of them to train while they practiced aura. They practiced aura and then as they were looking at the moon Ash heard snores coming from serena's general directions ash looked there and saw a sleeping serena, Ash found this cute and gave her his jacket as a blanket and said "Have a good night sleeping beauty".

They slept as 23 pokemon visited them that night.

~Morning~

Ash and Serena awoke only to find that serena was sleeping on Ash's shoulder while Ash rested his head on serena's, They both blushed furiously and pulled away, As they pulled away arceus appeared infront of them they bowed  and litened to what arceus had to say,

 "Rise my chosen two, I've come to inform you that me and 22 other legendaries have chosen you two to be our protectors, If you've noticed your bodies now have markings on them each representing a different legendary if you ask me why we haven't told you this before the reason is you were never to be found in a  secluded place where we could do the ritual without any external interference you have to be ready for any threat that the world may face because the balance is about to be disrupted, so anyways, Ciao" Arceus said as he dissapeared the duo sweatdropped at the end of that conversation. 

Suddenly Ash went to write lance a letter describing their situation and that he signs them up for any upcoming league and Asks his pidgeot to deliver it.
