Little Yami pranced around the big field on his gloved hands and booted feet. This was his first time visiting a pumpkin patch and he searched the wide field to find the biggest and roundest pumpkin to take back home. Behind him, Y/N followed after him with her phone in her hands to take pictures of him as he  tossed back smiles at her. Yami stood at the front of the field watching them as he sipped on his hot cider. I hope they remember to only pick one, then sighed when the small raccoon boy hopped on his feet while pointing at two large pumpkins. Y/N whipped her head around and Yami shook his head. Their home was already full with a ton of pumpkins she had bought from the store.

Y/N put her hands together, but Yami kept shaking his head. Little Yami came up to Y/N's side and held up his hands together over his head and Yami let out another sigh. He made his way towards them to take a look at the two pumpkins they wanted to get. "You promised we would only pick out one," he whispered to Y/N when he reached her.

She gave him a small smile as her eyes begged him to overlook what she said that morning. "Please Yami, it's only two. Look how big and pretty they are." Y/N took his arm just as Little Yami grabbed hold of his hand to pull him towards the pair of pumpkins he found. Inside, Yami felt a warm feeling as they pulled on him along the rows. He loved them both and felt part of something bigger, part of a family, and he was their protector and their stability. Y/N was their comfort and planner, while little Yami added joy and newness to their lives.

Five months had passed since Little Yami entered their lives and started living with them. The spare bedroom became his and the young raccoon dog boy attended a school near Y/N's worked. He followed the rules Yami placed on him and began to treat Yami with more affection. For Yami's birthday, he made a glittered pinecone and a card at his daycare. Both were displayed proudly on Yami's office at Kaiba Corps. Kaiba had teased Yami and asked when he was going to give in and make his family official by marrying Y/N and adopting Little Yami.

"Well, what do you think?"

Yami blinked out of his thoughts and looked between the two giant pumpkins. "I think I'm going to need help carrying them." He said chuckling then turned to Y/N asking, "But, do we really need both of them? Another family might want a big pumpkin to take home as well."

"That's true," Y/N admitted.

Little Yami ran around and put his arms on top both pumpkins and pouted up at them. Yami bent down and said gently while signing, "You know, every kid makes it their mission to look for the biggest pumpkin they can find when they visit a pumpkin patch. You're lucky to find two, but let's just take one so we can give someone else a chance." He sighed when Little Yami's brown ears folded down and Yami patted his head. Even I'm getting too soft, he mused. "Alright, we can get them both, but no more pumpkins from the market, okay."

Little Yami nodded his head as Y/N made her promise to stop buying more pumpkins. Yami stood up and scratched his head then said that he would be back with a wagon. He didn't grab one before since he didn't think they would find any big pumpkins so late in the month. Plus, they were supposed to go home with only one. Time has to be moving faster, Yami thought while grabbing hold of the wagon's handle. Before he knew it, the end of the year would be upon him and the new year will start with him still unmarried to Y/N. They had dated for two years now, both their careers were stable, and they loved each other, so what was he waiting for?

When he walked back to where Y/N and Little Yami waited, Yami saw another family talking with Y/N. Little Yami was busy playing with a boy and a girl as Y/N happily talked with the couple. She happen to turn towards him with a rosy smile on her face and Yami made up his mind. How he managed to stay calm when all he wanted to do was tell her about his grand epiphany, Yami didn't know, but the moment he got home he would at least tell Yugi. Carefully, he pulled the wagon between the rows and as he got closer he saw one of the giant pumpkins sitting in a wagon.
