halloween

happy day after halloween!! i just woke up thinking about rini on halloween so here you go :)

This is Nini's first halloween her parents aren't making her go trick or treating, and she's determined to make it count.

This guy she doesn't know is hosting a party, and she's very excited about it. She and her friends have been planning their group costume for weeks now.

Sure, it's a little cliche, them being the Mystery Gang from Scooby Doo, but Nini is just happy to be part of something this year.

She's currently dressed as Daphne, while Carlos is Fred, Seb is Shaggy, Kourtney is Velma, and Rico is Scooby.

The party is at the house of some guy that's homeschooled. Apparently he's well-off because his mom is some big-shot producer, but he's lived in Salt Lake all his life. All the popular kids know him.

Nini hears her phone vibrate from her bed, checking it to see a text from Kourtney.

Seb is driving everyone tonight, and Nini is the last to be picked up.

She quickly grabs her bag and heads out to the car, smiling.

"The gang's all here!" Seb calls when he sees her.

Nini laughs. "Heck yeah, we are."

The ride to the party was a quick one, and soon enough, there they were, in front of a stranger's house, about to go in.

The house is huge. There was a gate to even get in where Rico showed his school ID to get past it.

Nini takes a deep breath.

"Are you nervous?" Kourt asks.

"A little," Nini admits with a sheepish smile.

"You'll be fine. His parties are usually pretty tame," Rico tells her.

"Have you been here before?"

Rico nods. "He was on my soccer team when we were kids."

With that, they all go inside.

The house is very loud, Halloween music blasting through speakers.

Nini can't lie, she was a bit overwhelmed by this idea right when she walked in, but she's getting used to it.

She wasn't planning to drink until Kourtney handed her a shot, promising Seb will look out for them all since he's not drinking tonight.

She's had drinks casually with her family before, but she's never had alcohol in a public setting. Her parents gave her a talk before she left, reminding her of how to be smart with alcohol. For example, drinking water, eating food to absorb it, not mixing different types, and most importantly — not driving after having something to drink.

Nini has two shots in the span of an hour, dancing around the living room with her friends to the loud music.

Suddenly, Nini trips over her own foot, falling sideways.

Just as she's expecting to hit the ground, she's met with someone's chest.

"Woah!" He laughs out.

"Sorry!" Nini squeaks.

She looks up to see someone dressed as Fred from Scooby Doo.

"Hey! My friends and I are the Mystery Gang!" Nini smiles excitedly.
