[CHAPTER 7]

I turned my head to face her, and I was amazed by her beauty.
Chloe had long, black hair which emphasized her bright blue eyes. She was a little taller than me, her lips were red and plumped.
She had flawless skin and soft features, she was completely stunning.
She wore a tight black dress that fitted her body perfectly, and some jewelry to look fancier.
"Yes, I'm y/n." I responded and smiled a little, she was super nice.
"It's nice to meet you." She said and smiled widely, reaching her hand to me and waiting for me to shake it.
"Is... Taehyung here?" I asked politely after shaking her hand.
"He's on his way with Jack. He'll arrive in a few minutes." She answered and smiled again, even her smile was perfect.
"So, y/n. Tell me more about you" She said as she started walking into the kitchen, signing me with her hand to follow her.
"Umm... I work in a painting workshop." I answered as we got into the kitchen, she opened the fridge and poured juice into two cups.

"Really? That's interesting. What are you drawing?" She asked while holding the cups.
"There isn't really a particular thing I draw... it can be anything, whatever comes to my mind" I said and smiled a little as she handed me the cup of juice.
"I'd offer you a glass of whiskey, but since we both need to go to work, we need to stay focused and professional." She said as I took a sip from the drink.
"What about you? I've heard you're a doctor" I said, trying to hold the conversation.
"Yup, I'm a cardiologist. Love my work, met many amazing people" She said and sat on the chair at the table.
She is a doctor and seemed so smart, educated, and she looks so pretty from outside too. I really see what Taehyung found in her.
"Sit down, feel free" She said and I sat next to her.
"How did you and Taehyung meet?" She suddenly asked, but oh god. It was so complicated.
"Umm we... we went to high school together." I said, hoping she won't keep asking questions about it.
"That's so cool. He never really talks about his high school experience. So you guys were like good friends?" She asked, my heart started beating so fast. Taehyung didn't tell her about me, or about his past in general. Should I lie or tell her the truth?

"Y-yea... we were good friends." I said and forced a smile, that was when the maid got into the kitchen.
"Ma'am, mr. Kim and your child have arrived." She said politely as Chloe stood up.
"Stay here" She told me as Taehyung and her child entered the house.
"Hi babe" she said as she approached Taehyung and kissed his lips softly, then picked up her little child, Jack, and kissed his cheek.
Taehyung suddenly looked around, and when he noticed me, he couldn't stop staring.
"Wait a moment" Taehyung told Chloe as he walked towards me.
He had a little grin on his face.
"I'm glad you came." He said with his deep voice, I stood up and looked into his eyes.
"Your fiancée seems so nice. You're lucky" I said and tried to compliment him, trying to make the situation less awkward.
"Jin seems nice too, I see you found a man who can protect you at all costs." He said and I frowned, feeling so confused.
"Jin?" I said and let out a few giggles.
"Jin is my best friend Taehyung. We're not together" I responded and he seemed surprised.
"O-oh I'm s-sorry... it really looked like you guys were a couple" Taehyung said and gulped, feeling nervous.
"Anyway, you should meet Jack before Chloe and I leave for work. I'll show you around as well" He said and quickly tried to avoid that conversation.

"Alright" I answered and walked with him towards jack who was in his mother's arms.
Jack was tiny and sweet. He got those big blue eyes just like his mother, his cheeks were chubby.
"Hi jack, I'm y/n" I said nicely and softened my voice, Jack smiled and covered his face with his hands because he was shy.
"He always does that when he meets new people, but soon he'll feel more comfortable with you" Chloe said, Jack couldn't let go of her.
"Jack, I have a little surprise for you." I said and smiled, Jack peeked from between his fingers, I knew he was curious to know what the surprise is.
"I will give you this surprise only if you take your hands down and show me your face." I kept saying and smiled at him, trying to make him feel comfortable with me.
Jack slowly took his hands down and looked at me with curiousness.
"Do you know what the surprise is?" I asked as I hid a little chocolate which was in my bag behind my back.
Jack shook his head, still not uttering a sound out of his mouth.
"It's chocolate!" I said and showed him what I was hiding behind my back, he seemed surprised.
"YAY! Mommy can I eat this chocolate?" He asked Chloe with excitement in his voice.
"Not this one sweetie, you know why" She answered and I felt so confused.

"Alright y/n, let me show you the place" Taehyung said and I nodded.
"As you can see, this is the living room" He said as we walked in the big living room.
He showed me the rooms and the backyard, the house was modern and cool.
We kept on walking until we stopped at one door.
"This is the last room. It's Chloe's and mine's." He said as he opened it, the room was huge and I could see the view.
"Wow" I said as we got in, if I had this kind of room I'd never get out of bed.
"Basically, I'm done showing you everything. Just one more important thing, do not let Jack eat gluten-containing foods. He is allergic and has high sensitivity to gluten, try to read the ingredients if you are not sure what the products contain. That's why Chloe didn't let him eat the chocolate you brought" He finished speaking as I listened intently, nodding slowly.
"Alright. I just hope Jack will like me" I said and Taehyung smiled a little.
"Don't worry about it, he opens up pretty quickly" He said and I smiled back.
"Anyway, if you need help with anything don't be afraid to call. I'll try to help you as much as I can from work." Taehyung said before leaving.
"Okay. Have a nice day" I said politely, I still couldn't process everything.

Taehyung and Chloe had already left, Jack and I stayed together all the time.
Jack was really sweet, just a little kid who wants to play.
"Do you want to see my toys?" He asked with his babyish tone, I could tell he was super excited.
"Of course!" I said nicely as he led me into his room.
I played with him and his toys, this boy has a creative imagination.
"Do you have other toys you want us to play with?" I asked him and smiled widely, but he shook his head.
"No, mommy always forgets to buy more" He said and kept playing with it.
"She a-always says she needs to focus on things for the wedding" He said with a sad tone, he was super obvious.
"Why are you sad about it Jacky?" I asked him with a gentle tone, but he ignored my question. I didn't repeat the question because after all he is just a little kid and I didn't want to stress him, so we just kept playing with his toys and other games like hide and seek.

The time passed pretty quickly, i didn't think I'd say this, but I actually had fun with Jack.
He is full of charms and cuteness.
Taehyung got home around 5:30 PM, Chloe still hasn't returned from work.

"Hey" Taehyung said as Jack ran into his arms.
"Did you have fun with y/n today?" Taehyung asked and Jack nodded his head while smiling, he was still a little shy.
I smiled and approached Taehyung slowly.
"Can we exchange words y/n?" Taehyung asked and I answered "yes".
"Alright Jack, I need to speak to y/n for a moment. Can you wait here for just five minutes? I'll come to play with you afterwards" Taehyung said and both of us walked into one of the rooms, he closed the door behind him.
"So... was he annoying or was he sweet?" Taehyung said and smirked.
"He was seriously so sweet and fun. I really had a good time with him" I replied, Taehyung seemed pleased.
"I'm happy you had a good time, sometimes he can be hard to deal with." He said and I felt a little relieved because I managed to make a bond between me and Jack in one day.
"I also need to give you the payment" He said as he opened one of the drawers near the table in the room.
His back was faced to me as he pulled out something, and as he turned around I saw him holding a wad of cash.
"He's probably going to give me a few dollars." I thought to myself as he started counting the dollars.

"Here, take this." He said as he handed me the whole wad, my eyes widened and my mouth slightly opened.
"What? Are you seriously giving me ALL of this?!" I said and felt super shocked.
"Taehyung, how much money is it in here?" I kept asking him, trying to understand what the hell was happening.
"It's two thousand dollars in cash." He said and my jaw dropped. Why would he give me so much money?
